Heavy rains and winds recently uprooted one of the old White Oaks next to the Church, causing significant damage to the roof. Thanks to all of you who continue to generously donate to the Salem Cemetery Fund, the tree was promptly removed and the roof was repaired.
Special thanks to Dale Parham for facilitating the process and donating tarps to protect the Church during the time the roofers were searching for "old-style" metal roofing panels.
Thanks also to Adam Burroughs of Top to Bottom Tree Service and Tony Driver for assisting him in the tree removal. Also thanks to Mitch Dyer and his construction crew for handling the roof repair.
For those of you who will attend Homecoming, the ground still needs some dirt work before parking in that area, so we ask that the area be used only by vehicles to drop off those who need to access the ramp, and that vehicles park only on the right side of Church facing it from Salem Road. There should be ample space there for all vehicles.
