This post is a little late, but we’re still holding onto how special this weekend was. 💛

Our Marriage Retreat was such a meaningful time together—filled with moments of worship, encouragement, laughter, and honest conversation. We’re so grateful for the way God met us in this space.

From powerful teaching and practical wisdom shared by our speakers, to the intentional investment from the Nazarene Foundation, every part of the weekend reminded us of the importance of pouring into our marriages with purpose and care.

We were challenged, refreshed, and encouraged to continue investing in one another—choosing love, grace, and intentionality in the everyday moments.

To everyone who joined us—thank you for being part of such a special weekend. We’re already looking forward to next year and would love to have you with us!

✨ Meet Our Worship Leader: Pastor James Burkes ✨

Pastor James and his wife, Pastor Melissa, have been married for 25 years and share a deep commitment to ministry and family.

Pastor James has served in ministry for over 25 years and currently serves as the pastor of Summerville Church of the Nazarene. Together, James and Melissa lead alongside their four children—three daughters and one son—who also join them in ministry, modeling a life of faith lived together as a family.

Pastor James has a heart for meeting people exactly where they are, listening to their stories, and inviting them into the greatest story of all—the ongoing work of God in the world.

We’re grateful for the wisdom, pastoral heart, and lived experience James and Melissa bring, and we’re looking forward to all that God will share through them at the retreat. 💍💙

✨ Meet Our Marriage Retreat Speakers: Jeremy & Kristie Selvidge ✨

We’re honored to be joined by Jeremy and Kristie Selvidge, who bring over 25 years of pastoral ministry experience and a deep love for couples and the covenant of marriage.

The Selvidges have lived in Murfreesboro for the past six years and serve together at The Table Church, a unique church merger where they lead in a tri-pastorate role. Over the years, they’ve served in both youth and lead pastoral positions and have developed a heart for ministry across all ages—especially couples.

One of their greatest passions is walking alongside dating and engaged couples, offering encouragement, wisdom, and counseling to help set a strong foundation for marriage that lasts.

Jeremy and Kristie are also proud parents of three adult children:
• Regan, who serves as a resident director at Trevecca Nazarene University with her husband Cam and their two dogs
• Jace, a 2025 TNU graduate pursuing a career in law enforcement
• Rylan, a Middle Tennessee student who works as a manager with a general contractor in Murfreesboro

We are so grateful for the wisdom, experience, and heart Jeremy and Kristie bring—and we can’t wait for you to learn from them at the retreat! 💍💙
