Tonight our Patriots gathered at my home to work on their Faith Award, specifically diving deep into the word reverent tonight.
The Faith Award asks each girl to choose four words from the AHG Creed and truly study them through scripture, journaling, crafting, prayer, application to life, and creative expression. We were a little behind on reverent, so the girls gave up their free time after school to come make it a priority to earn this badge.
And they did more than just check a box tonight.
We read scripture together and studied 1 Kings 6, where they tried to model the tabernacle based on its detailed design wothbair foam. They learned what a cherubim is and even made their own to place inside their building. It sparked such good conversation about how intentional worship was, how detailed the temple was, and what it means to approach a holy God with reverence.
Then they created what we are calling their Reverent Reminder Boards. Each girl included names of God, practical reminders of how to live reverently, and picked a worship song that helps anchor their heart to reverent. I loved seeing their personalities shine through. Every board was completely different, creative, thoughtful, and beautiful in its own way.
We also worked on our script for the AHG finale ceremony in April with lots of luaghs and script writing to really own what they will be presenting to the younger AHG generation.
And of course, we broke bread together. Open faced Texas toast meatball subs, chocolate covered strawberries, and cupcakes made for the perfect mix of meaningful and fun.
What blessed me most was not the projects… It is watching these young women CHOOSE to grow and lean on each other.
They chose To study
Chose To reflect
To build
To ask questions
To laugh
To take their faith seriously
All while still being teenagers who enjoy each other.
As their leader, I am so grateful they allow me to walk alongside them. I get to guide them, learn with them, and laugh with them. Watching them deepen their relationship with the Lord is such an honor.
So proud of our Patriots.
Reverent. And becoming more so every day.
