This morning, Rabbi Z participated in the funeral of a Jewish woman whom he never met. She left behind no spouse, no children, and no family to arrange her burial.
Yet she was not alone.
In the end, fellow Jews came together to ensure that she received the dignity, respect, and burial that every Jewish soul deserves.
There is something profoundly moving about a community that shows up not because of what someone had, but simply because of who they were—a fellow Jew.
