Letting Go is an Act of Worship
Lately, I’ve been dwelling on the truth in 1 Peter 5:6–7 and how perfectly it’s captured in the song "Oh the Mighty Hand" by CityAlight.
We often view anxiety as a heavy burden we just have to "deal with," but Scripture frames it as a humility check. To "cast our cares" isn't just a suggestion; it’s a literal act of the will. It’s the moment we admit we aren't the ones in control and finally surrender the outcome to the One who is.
As the song says: "The mighty hand that controls the sea is the hand that fights for and cares for me."
True humility is saying, "Have Your own way, Lord," and trusting that His ordering of our lives is better than our own. If you’re struggling to hold it all together today, remember that the God who thunders is the same God who "loves you a million ways." . Whether you are walking through a season of abundance or a valley of shadows, let these lyrics settle in your heart today: “Oh the mighty hand of God / Is the same God who loves me a million ways"
Give it a listen and let the truth of His strength be your song this week! He cares for you. That is enough.
