Hello, my name is Jennifer Higgins. I am a daughter of the Most High King. The Lord made me His child in October 1979 when I was a 22-year-old living in New Orleans, Louisiana. That is when my new life truly began.
A couple of years later, I moved to Houston, Texas, to pursue a call to full-time ministry. There I met my husband, Bob. We married a year later and have now been married for 41 years. We are blessed with two daughters and two wonderful sons-in-law who live in the Denver area.
While raising our daughters and supporting my husband as he completed seminary and prepared for pastoral ministry, I placed my own schooling on hold. During that time, I started a small business from home typing papers for students attending Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
As my children grew older, I resumed my education at a local college and eventually completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in 2012. Around that time, I became a licensed mental health therapist in the State of Ohio. I later opened my own practice while my husband was pastoring in Idalia, Colorado, serving clients in Burlington and Wray. I also contracted with the Idalia and Wray school systems, providing therapy to students as needed.
My passion is to see people set free from pain and bo***ge, both in my professional counseling work and in ministry. Over the years, I have been involved in several ministries, including Healing Rooms of Greater Cleveland in Ohio, Moms in Prayer International (formerly Moms in Touch), and Bible Study Fellowship International (BSF). Since 2022, I have led a BSF Bible study group with women from many states and even a couple of different countries, creating a rich and diverse community of women united by their relationship with Jesus Christ.
More recently, we have started a women’s prayer group at our church, where we intercede for our church, our community, and one another. I also co-teach a Sunday morning ladies’ Bible study with a dear friend. I love praying with and for others and sharing testimonies of how God has been at work in my life over the years.
Today, my husband and I are semi-retired. He continues to supply preach, and I maintain a home office where I see several clients through telehealth. We are entering a new stage of life, and with each season come new adjustments in ministry and fresh ways to serve and express God’s calling.
