This morning we will be finishing off the 22nd Chapter in the Gospel of Matthew.

Previously in our text, we have seen the Sadducees, the Pharisees and even the Herodians trying to trap Jesus and trip Him up by asking questions that they thought were too difficult for anyone to answer without implicating or distancing themselves. Time and time again, Jesus has left these religious leaders stunned and in silence.

Our text this morning will not be any different. We will see a scribe ask Jesus: “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

Considering the religious leaders taking the 10 commandments and turning them into 613 rules and regulations there was a lot to choose from. Jesus will in fact give us the answer to which is the greatest command in the Law.

Then Jesus will take His turn to put the Pharisees on the offensive. He will ask a very basic question. A question that these Pharisees, apparently, never gave much thought to but that had HUGE implications to their understanding of the Messiah and his lineage. The simple question regarding the Messiah was: “Whose son is He?”

We will also be having a prayer service tonight at 4PM.

This morning we will be starting the 22nd Chapter in the Gospel of Matthew. In our text, we will start off with another parable from Jesus that will make the religious leaders look pretty bad. However, there are also critical truths in this parable that have application to our lives today.

Then we will see different religious groups coming to "take their shot" at stumping and tripping up Jesus with their questions. They will fail miserably, but they will certainly give it the old college try.

In our text we will see the importance of living out the truth of the Gospel, how we are to honor the governments that have been put in place by our Lord, and what marriage will look like in Heaven.

We have some great text this morning, and I hope everyone can be here so we can unpack these truths together.

I know this is Memorial day weekend, and if you are traveling please be safe. Memorial day is a day in which we remember the final sacrifices that have been made by some of our service members in defense of our country. Their sacrifice has allowed us the freedoms we enjoy today.

Let us also honor the One that made the final sacrifice that allows us eternal freedom from sin and death, and an eternal home in heaven for all who place their faith in Christ.

This morning we will be finishing off the 20th Chapter in the Gospel of Matthew.

We will start out the morning by looking at Jesus proclaiming His impending death for the third time to the disciples. Each time He had predicted His death, the disciples reaction had been strange, and this third time will be no different.

We will then look at a very bold and audacious request made by the mother of James and John. She was trying to hedge her bets to ensure her boys got good seats in the coming Kingdom.

We will finish off the chapter by looking at Jesus healing two blind men, that would not be silenced, on the way to Jerusalem.
