On behalf of Mayor Timothy “Tim” Riley and the entire City of Gonzales family, we offer our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family of young Raiden Scott, who was taken far too soon this week at the age of 6.
Raiden was the beloved son of City of Gonzales Streets Department employee Roger Scott and a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. His joyful spirit, infectious smile, and love for basketball left a lasting impression on his teammates, coaches, friends, and family. Raiden proudly played for the Timberwolves in the Gonzales Youth Basketball League, where he brought enthusiasm and heart to the game he loved.
As the Scott family navigates this unimaginable loss, we ask our community to keep them in your thoughts and prayers and to surround them with love and support during this difficult time.
A fundraiser benefiting the Scott family will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Gonzales Civic Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. All proceeds will help ease the financial burden of funeral expenses as the family honors Raiden’s precious life and memory.

Raiden’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, and he will never be forgotten.
