Apparently it is my turn to get hit by the "CHURCH GIFT CARD SCAM" email. If you have received an email that looks like it is from me requesting gift cards from Macy's for a sick woman and "a few staff" as as bonus for the month" note a few things: 1. We don't have a Macy's' around here, 2. I would never do gift card requests via email, the request would appear in the newsletters and bulletins, all council members would know, and we would highlight them in announcements in church, 3. I would never ask for someone to do something that I would "pay you back later in cash or check", 4. my email address is NOT [email protected]. please be careful with any requests like this. When in doubt, ALWAYS contact the person you think is asking for things like this to clarify if this is them or not. There are so many scams out there now. please protect yourselves.
