I often have to turn off the radio or change the channel on the TV when a Carl's Jr. advertisement comes on. I do it for my kids but I also do it for me. I find it rather appalling and embarrassing that they would go to that level to sell their product.

Shame on Carl's Jr. and Hardy's!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Don't let today be the only day that you show love and appreciation.

Got dinner plans? A romantic get away? A special gift of chocolate or jewelry?

Are any of these things for your child(ren)?
They could be! Take your child(ren) on a "date". Dedicate a day or an evening. A single parent and child, so there is no added distraction. Write it on a calendar or make a note to put on the fridge. A casual outing or even something formal.

Treat it like your first date (the more innocent side of your experience). Asking questions and being engaged in conversation even if is talking about Barbies or Legos. Asking them questions like, what they want to be when they grow up. You can learn so much about your child. It's a fun thing to do to keep a good relationship because eventually they will grow up but they will remember the experience.

Experiences last more than material possessions. Proverbs 22:6, " Teach children how they should live, and they will remember it all their life".

It's a New Year. If your family does not have a devotional, it's never too late to pick one up.

Parents with young children can read to them. Those with children that are of reading age can practice their skills with the word of God. Whether morning or night, take the time to bring the family together.

Each devotional has a verse for the day. Have the family try to memorize the verse and quiz each other at the dinner table.

Make time for family, but more importantly, make time for God. These quick, fun ideas can bring us all closer together as a family and closer to God!

Do not be discouraged in the times we live in.

Know that the time of our Lord and Savior draws near. Rejoice in his coming! But while we wait on the Lord, be kind to those around you.

Teach your children the way of the gospel. Those that sin are rebelling against God. Nurture and discipline your children so that they will not fall to the temptation of sin that has tainted our land and world.

Children that obey their parents, and other authority, will have a greater chance at life. If you are struggling to get your children to obey, find support with other parents and elders in the church. Remember, it takes a village to raise a child. Don't feel left out when you need it most!

Teach your children to obey. Help them understand and visualize the blessings that come with obedience. It is the very best place for them to be.

Do you homeschool? Do you send your kid(s) to private school? Do you send your kid(s) to public school?

There is no right or wrong answer. What matters is what the home teaches. Become familiar with the scripture when it comes to disciplining your child(ren). Dig deep in to how a family should be raised up in the church. Observe the teachings of Jesus and how each one of us can grow closer to our heavenly Father.

The pressures of this world can be daunting at times, but remember the Church. She is a worthy vessel that can handle any storm (Matthew 8:24). As long as we keep our eyes focused on heavenly places, our heavenly Father will care for us in any circumstance.

Pray daily for your child(ren). Ask for guidance and wisdom as they enter each day to learn things of this world and of heavenly places.

Hey everyone it's been a while!

This coming Sunday we will be celebrating our risen Lord and Savior. Where ever you are, visit your local Church to be a part of the living God.

Easter is one of the most important Holy Days of our faith. Jesus who came from heaven and lived as a man, became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He not only died for us, but he conquered death.

Who in your life would be able to do that? Who would love you unconditionally and and literally would go to hell and back?

Our Father in heaven knows His children and cares for them as we care for our own. He is not the God of self. He is not the God of chaos and destruction. He is not the God who lived and died. OUR GOD'S ALIVE!!!!

In the new age of technology, busy work schedules and hectic family life, we sometimes fall short of maintaining healthy family relationships. Don't lose focus on being the parent! Remember it goes: God>Jesus>Husband>Wife>Child(ren). If your children do not respect you, they do not respect God (if you really think about it). The husband is the head of the household. If the husband has not authority over his children, then who does? The fall of man was put on Adam, even though Eve was the one who initially sinned. Since Adam was the head, he was responsible for the actions of his "subordinate". Don't become THAT parent and family that no one wants to be around. Everyone will benefit from a Christ centered upbringing.

Most people are thrilled to learn they are going to be parents. But in many families, the parents’ goals are never realized. The “plan” does not unfold as planned.
