❤️ 217 MEALS SERVED TONIGHT! ❤️

Tonight, 217 bowls of chicken, rice, and homemade gravy went out into our community! 🍗🍚 And tonight’s spotlight goes to someone who deserves a whole lot of recognition: Mrs. Nora! ❤️

Let me tell y’all something. If you’ve ever received a meal from Goldston Community Table, I can almost guarantee Mrs. Nora had a hand in preparing, packing, or sealing it! 😂

Need more containers? Mrs. Nora!

Forgot the crackers? Mrs. Nora!

Our dine-in folks need ice for their drinks? Mrs. Nora!

Something needs cleaning or sanitizing? Don’t worry, Mrs. Nora is already on it! 😂

From cooking and food prep to packing meals, keeping us organized, and making sure everything is clean and ready to go, she is truly one of the people who keeps this ministry moving.

And what makes her so special is that she doesn’t wait to be asked. She simply sees what needs doing and gets it done. ❤️ Mrs. Nora, we couldn’t do this without you! Thank you for loving on our community and taking care of all of us behind the scenes.

Because sometimes serving 217 meals takes more than a good cook. It takes somebody who remembers the crackers! 😂❤️

❤️ VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: MR. EDDIE!

Every week, Mr. Eddie faithfully delivers meals to more than 20 neighbors, but he doesn’t stop there!
Need a fan when it’s hot? He’s got it! Need spoons, aluminum foil, or something we forgot? Mr. Eddie is already on it! 😂

He’s one of those people who sees a need and quietly takes care of it. 205 bowls don’t happen without people like Mr. Eddie! Thank you for your time, your kindness, and your servant’s heart. We appreciate you! ❤️

❤️ 248 MEALS SERVED TONIGHT! ❤️

Tonight, Goldston Community Table served 248 hot dog meals to our community! 🌭 But tonight’s spotlight is on a different kind of contribution.

Meet Uncle Donnell, one of our most faithful encouragers. ❤️

Serving our community is a blessing, but there are also weeks when the cooking, planning, and sheer volume can wear you down. Somehow, when this cook is feeling discouraged, Uncle Donnell seems to show up with exactly the encouraging word I need.

It’s a reminder that EVERY kind of support matters.

You don’t have to cook 248 meals, make deliveries, or write a check to make a difference. Sometimes your contribution is simply noticing someone is tired and saying, “Keep going.”

Uncle Donnell, thank you for faithfully encouraging us and reminding us why we keep showing up. ❤️

“I want to thank each and every person who participated in any way to make the Sandra W. Tysor Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament a success. I will start my thank yous by shouting out The Golf Club at Quail Ridge for hosting our tournament every year. I thank our sponsors: Wilson, Reives and Doran Attorneys at Law, the Palmer/Degraffenreaidt Family, CG's Tax Service and Gaines Oil Company. Thank you to T & M Barber College for sponsoring two players. I thank our donors Donnell Degraffenreaidt, Rev. Tyesha Nicole Harden and Jimmy Smith.

We thank Aberdeen Coca Cola Bottling for donating drinks and water, Shutterbug Graphix for our banners, Justin Palmer for using his grill and cooking for us. I thank Rev. Kent and Chaz Burnett and Southern Supreme Fruitcakes for donating door prizes. Toddy Brooks, Allen Brooks, Ben Jordan and Rev. A Kent Burnett, who finished 5 under par.

We thank God for an absolutely beautiful day and everyone enjoyed the food, fun, and fellowship while supporting a worthy cause. All the proceeds from the tournament provide scholarships available to students in Chatham and Lee Counties.

Tonight, 220 meals served. ❤️

Pulled pork BBQ made possible by donations from our community. Slaw donated by Rufus Restaurant. BBQ prepared by Rev. Ford all the way in Fayetteville. And that’s just the beginning.

Every single week, so many hands go into making the Community Table possible. People cook, donate, pack, serve, deliver, clean, and simply show up. That’s what makes this so special.

Tonight we want to highlight Mr. Robert Hatcher, a Mt. Herman member, and his wife, Mrs. Barbara Hatcher of Gees Grove AME Zion. Faithfully, every week, they pick up meals and deliver them to three households in their neighborhood.

Three households may not sound like a lot, but that’s exactly the point.

No contribution is too small. Three families are cared for because Robert and Barbara faithfully show up. Multiply that kind of love across an entire community, and suddenly 220 people are fed.

That’s Community Table. A whole lot of people doing what they can, with what they have, to love their neighbors. ❤️
