What a beautiful afternoon of worship, fellowship, and celebration at Hats, Heels, and Hallelujah!

On Sunday, our church family and guests gathered together to honor God’s faithfulness through every season of life. From the beautiful hats and elegant heels to the heartfelt worship, inspiring words, and joyful fellowship, the atmosphere was filled with love, encouragement, and praise.

This event was especially meaningful as we continued a vision inspired by the late Sandra Tysor, whose spirit of faith, strength, and community continues to bless and inspire us. We are grateful to Kesha Matthews for helping bring this special gathering to life and to all of the choirs, churches, participants, and attendees who joined us.

Thank you to everyone who came, supported, and helped make this day so memorable. We laughed, worshiped, encouraged one another, and left reminded that no matter what season we are walking through, God remains faithful.

Keep your head high.
Keep your faith strong.
Keep your heart anchored in God.

Please join us in congratulating Jeremiah, son of Justin and Ashley Palmer and grandson of Eddie and Nora Palmer, on being awarded the Durham District AME Zion Lay Council Scholarship this past weekend!

Jeremiah, a proud member of Mt. Herman AME Zion Church, will use this scholarship as he begins his journey at UNC Charlotte majoring in Business. He represented Mt. Herman with excellence, class, and professionalism, and looked incredibly sharp during the event.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to Union Grove AME Zion Church for hosting and to the Durham District AME Zion Lay Council for continuing to invest in and recognize our youth.

Jeremiah is following in the footsteps of his older sister, Carolyn, who received this same scholarship two years ago and is now entering her junior year at UNC Chapel Hill on the pre-med track.

We are incredibly proud of both of these young leaders and excited to see all God has in store for their futures. Congratulations Jeremiah! ❤️

Over the past 6 months, the Goldston Community Table has served more than 2,200 meals to families, the elderly, the sick, and shut-ins across our community. What started as a simple act of love continues to grow month after month because of people who believe no one should go hungry.

In December 2025, we served 290 people. By April 2026, that number had grown to 519 in a single month. Even in May, we served 467 people throughout our community.

What makes this ministry special is that:
• 70% of meals are delivered directly to elderly, sick, and shut-in community members
• We are impacting approximately 10-15 local churches
• 100% of donations go directly toward food and supplies
• No volunteers receive compensation for their time or delivery services

This is neighbors helping neighbors. Small churches with big hearts coming together to love our community well.

If you would like to support the Goldston Community Table, every donation truly makes a difference. Whether it’s $5, $50, or simply sharing this post, you are helping place meals on tables and reminding people they are not forgotten.

Thank you for continuing to support this mission and helping us feed hope throughout our community. ❤️

Please note that the Goldston Community Table will be canceled this Monday in observance of Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

We are incredibly grateful for the volunteers who pour so much love, time, and energy into serving our community week after week. This holiday, we want to give our team a well-deserved opportunity to rest, spend time with family, and recharge. ❤️

We look forward to gathering again and serving our community the following Monday. Thank you all for your continued support, prayers, donations, and encouragement that help make this ministry possible.

Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day weekend!
