Today is the last day of Foster Care Awareness Month, and I’ve been reflecting on something we talk about often: every member of the church is called to foster.

That doesn’t mean every person is called to open their home to children in need. But every believer is called to love, support, encourage, and care for vulnerable children and the families walking alongside them.

A few months ago, a group of ladies from our church reached out and asked a simple question: “How can we help?”

First, they made cards filled with encouraging notes for foster families. Then this morning at church we received another gift that touched my heart.

The Washington Senior Quilters and Washington OHCE Club donated handmade baby blankets, burp cloths, and baby bibs for children in foster care. The materials for these items were donated, and these ladies generously gave their time, talent, and skill to lovingly create each piece by hand.

What makes this even more special is that these are the same ladies who faithfully check in with our foster family every Sunday. They ask how the babies are doing. They ask about the biological families. They ask if there is anything else they can do to help. They genuinely care.

This is what fostering can look like.

It can look like sewing blankets.
It can look like writing encouragement cards.
It can look like asking questions and remembering names.
It can look like praying.
It can look like showing up week after week and reminding children and families that they are not alone.

I am continually humbled by the many ways our church family has intentionally stepped in to love and serve children in foster care and the families caring for them. There are so many different ways to make a difference, and this beautiful donation is just one example of what happens when people use the gifts God has given them to care for one another.

Thank you to the Washington Senior Quilters and the Washington OHCE Club for your generosity, your servant hearts, and for being such a beautiful example of the Church in action.

This past Wednesday, we had a Small Group Serve Night where several of our small groups came together to serve The Hope Box, an extension of Fostering Hope Ministries.

The Hope Box serves foster, kinship, and adoptive families, as well as children waiting in DHS offices for homes and, at times, local families facing difficult circumstances. It was truly a beautiful picture of the church coming together as a family.

There is something incredibly uplifting and empowering about seeing the Body of Christ move together with the same mission and heart to care for children and support the families who love and serve them every day.

The song in this video is “Count on Me,” and that message perfectly reflects the heart behind what we do. Fostering Hope Ministries and The Hope Box would not exist without Goldsby Church and the people who faithfully show up, serve, give, pray, and love. We know we can always count on our church family, and our hope is that the children and families we serve know they can count on us, too.

We want them to know they are not carrying these burdens alone. We are here to help carry the weight, pray with them, walk alongside them, encourage them, and do life with them.

Goldsby Church is why the Hope box and Fostering Hope Ministries is able to exist!! 💙

We officially moved into the connex box this past Sunday… and it still doesn’t feel real.

These photos are just the beginning of move-in. We still have a ways to go, but it’s happening—and that alone feels so big.

What started as a small idea is slowly turning into something that can truly serve families in a bigger, more intentional way.

Thank you to everyone who has helped get us to this point. Every donation, every share, every person who has shown up—it all matters more than you know.

We’re not done yet… but we’re on our way. 💛

📦 HOPE BOX VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY 🤍

We are so excited to share that our Connex Box is officially ready to move into! The flooring is complete, and shelving has arrived this is a HUGE step forward for the Hope Box ministry, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Now we need YOUR help to bring it all together!

🗓 Volunteer Work Day: TOMORROW Sunday, April 19 (after church)

We are hoping to gather around 15 volunteers (we have 2 so far 😊) to help us make this big transition happen. There are a couple ways you can jump in:

📍 At the Church (Connex Box):

* Help set up shelving
* Organize clothing and supplies
* Create a functional, welcoming space for families

🏡 At My House:

* Sort through recent donations
* Help organize clothing
* Transport items from the shop to the Connex Box

This is such an important step in growing what Hope Box can offer to our community, and it truly takes all of us working together.

If you’re available and willing to help, please message me directly at 4056398803. Even a couple of hours makes a big difference!

Thank you for supporting this ministry and the families we serve 💛
