It looks like the roads are getting better, but the concern is that the snow will melt and refreeze Wednesday evening. We want Wednesday Night Connect to be well attended, without people concerned with the weather. Therefore, we decided to postpone the beginning of WNC for a week. We'll plan to begin Wednesday Feb.11th! I look forward to seeing everyone then (and hopefully, in church this Sunday!)

We will not have worship in the sanctuary this Sunday. However, we have recorded an abbreviated service (announcements, prayer, scripture and sermon) for this Sunday. I'm grateful we can still worship "together" from our homes this Sunday at 10:30 via YouTube. We still plan to have Wednesday Night Connect on February 4th from 6-8. Hope to see you soon. Stay warm!

The input received is that it would be wise not to have worship this Sunday. We hate to miss, but we don't want anyone falling on the ice. Hope you'll worship at home as a family, on-line, or on T.V. Stay safe.

The weather forecast says: "Freezing rain, perhaps mixed with sleet at times. Total sleet accumulations less than one inch and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch.

We had a wonderful time celebrating Pastor Ryan and Michelle’s birthdays after church last Sunday. We enjoyed some delicious cake and truly had a great time celebrating the days that the world changed!

We have Cross Training from 9:15 to 10:00. Ray will lead a discussion on a prayer of Daniel 9. Thanks, Ray! Then, Coffee Fellowship from 10:00 to 10:25. Linda Cribb is scheduled to provide the refreshments. Thanks, Linda!

It is Sanctity of Life Sunday. So, the message will be from Mark 10:13-16 (We'll return to Mark 1 the next Sunday)

We're going to sing the following songs with Isaac and the worship team:

1) There's Nothing That Our God Can't Do
2) Great Is Thy Faithfulness
3) Precious Love
Offering: Highest Place

We are also going to ordain/install Mark Chenier and Ziggy Yeh as our newest Session members! Thank you, Mark and Ziggy for accepting God's call to serve as elders at Cornerstone.

Watching: Ruth & Boaz

We're going to watch Ruth and Boaz, which is a modern rendition of the Biblical story about... you guessed it... Ruth and Boaz! In the opening scene of the movie, Ruth briefly dances in a skimpy outfit. The scene is meant to portray the "worldly environment" that she's coming out of. So, you may choose to avert your eyes for a minute! But, the rest of the movie is good. It takes some artistic license in order to tell the story in a modern context, but the major themes are the same as the book in the Bible.
