Greetings All,

I wanted all to know that we had a very successful Wreaths Across America event, and also, show appreciations to organizations who supported us throughout 2025.

Wreaths Across America was a great success thanks to the new coordinators Sean and Brittany. They took the positions on short notice and made it happen. They had lots of help but were willing to let others take the reins and handle business. They did was few others could or were willing to do.

This was one of the larger ceremonies we’ve had and it ran smoothly. The numbers weren’t looking great 1 week out but finished at 100% coverage for Veteran gravesites. Other than parking, which is out of anyone’s control, I didn’t hear any complaints; only complements. However, if you were worried about your Veteran receiving a wreath, the only way to ensure one is to purchase one next year. You don’t have to wait; you can order wreaths now while it’s fresh on your mind.

Here is the ECSVC WAA page: https://www.facebook.com/waagoldsboro/

We’ve had many other organizations and businesses give us assistance in 2025. Our #1 Supporters are the members of the Patriot Guard Riders in Goldsboro. They are the only group that promised on Day 1 to support the cemetery and NEVER failed to come through. They give more than they’ll ever receive and are allowed to be a part of the cemetery instead of just being a volunteer.

Last but far from least, the following companies have provided tremendous aid by volunteering or donating items to the cemetery. We’ve had emergency situations answered in hours and volunteer efforts that saved hundreds of hours. When dealing with businesses, it’s hard to tell who to trust, but these listed have gone above and beyond to support our Veterans and their Families. And they never asked for attention in doing so.

With support like this, we hope to make the cemetery even better in 2026.

Thank You

Good Morning,

I'm happy to announce our WAA Ceremony will happen this year. The date/time I Saturday, December 13 at 12:00 noon.

We now have Sean and Brittany as coordinators and are so pleased someone stepped in. If you need to contact them, please DM them at the WAA page or email them from the WAA Goldsboro web page. The link may take a few days to be posted.

Please remember that December 1 is the last day to donate.

Wreaths Across America ("WAA") coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies every December to "Remember, Honor, and Teach" about the sacrifices made by our veterans and their families. Please check out this page to learn how you can help by sponsoring Veterans Remembrance Wreaths or by joining us on Decembe...

Greetings All

I don't post often, but I want you all to know we've been extremely busy. Our staff has been focusing on the grounds and are about to move forward with a headstone cleaning and realignment project. We're hopeful this will dramatically improve the appearance of the cemetery. We've also added a temporary FT employee with the hope he becomes permanent.

Also, artificial flower are permitted 1 November thru 1 April. As a reminder, you must use our vases and no decorations are permitted, to include bows, ribbons, flags, or the artificial berries. Please stop by the office for a complete policy guide.

The main reason for this post is Wreaths Across America. At this time, we don't have a site coordinator, and without one, you can't order wreaths for the cemetery or have a ceremony. A search for a new coordinator has been ongoing for about 6 years, with no one volunteering.

The good news is if we have someone step up, there's time to make it happen this year. I won't lie and say its easy, the position does take a lot of time and effort.

If anyone is interested, please go to the WAA website and send them a request for contact.

Greetings,

We wanted to post an update to the WAA program for this year and provide the link to their webpage.

With all of the natural disasters we've faced, donations are lower that previous years. If you want to ensure your loved one receives a wreath, please donate and assign them their own.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, 14 December at 12pm. There is no major presentation planned. The focus will be on the Veterans and their Families.

Please help if you can and spread the word.

Good Afternoon,

WAA is seeking a program coordinator for our area. If interested, please contact Tawnya Tucker using the information in the WAA Goldsboro FB page. The new coordinator will have plenty of support and training. They will not be left hanging. However, if a person isn't found, the program not be able to provide wreaths this year.

If you have the time, talent and energy, please contact Tawnya just to talk. She knows the ins and outs better than anyone.

Memorial Day Flag Information:

Most of the Memorial Day Flags will be installed on Thursday, 23 May at 2pm. We have over 1500 Flags to install and West Pharmaceutical has volunteered to assist us. If anyone else wishes to help, please be here shortly before 2:00pm. We recommend bringing a Phillips Head Screwdriver to make the hole for the flag.

The ceremonial Flag placement will be on Saturday, 25 May at 9:00am. We are reserving approximately 100 gravesites and dedicating that time to remembering our Fallen. At this time, no one has volunteered to sponsor a formal service. It will be a very short but meaningful time.

As a reminder to everyone, artificial flower season closes on April 1, 2023. Will will pick up all artificial flowers that are not authorized on April 2.

Also, below is a link to a GIS Map of the cemetery. This map allows you to find a grave by last name. It is a great option.

Greetings Everyone,

This post is to inform you that the Wreaths Across America event will occur on Saturday, December 17 @ 12:00pm. We are expecting a large crowd so recommend you get here early. Also, the deadline for wreath donations is in 8 days, and the cemetery is only at 46.5%. That's a shortage of 696 wreaths. Please pass the word around about the need. This is our sixth Christmas, and we've never missed the goal.
