All loose toy donations will be used to help fill out Angel Tree wish lists ~ making sure even more children receive a meaningful Christmas gift.

Today we celebrate Founder's Day and give thanks for the incredible legacy of William and Catherine Booth, whose hearts were devoted to sharing the love of Jesus in practical ways.

Their vision was simple but powerful: “Heart to God, Hand to Man.” 161 years later, that mission continues through The Salvation Army as we serve our neighbors with compassion, meet human needs without discrimination, and proclaim the hope found in Jesus Christ.

As we reflect on our founders' faith and courage, we’re reminded that every meal served, every family assisted, every child encouraged, and every life touched is part of that same mission.

Thank you to our dedicated staff, our faithful volunteers, donors, and amazing community partners who help make this ministry possible each day.

Together, we continue the work that William and Catherine Booth began locally here in Goldsboro~ sharing hope, extending grace, and serving our community in Christ’s name.

❤️ Happy Founder's Day from The Salvation Army of Wayne & Sampson Counties!

🎄 Only 6 Months Until Christmas! 🎄

It may seem early, but for us, Christmas planning is already underway! In just six months, The Salvation Army Angel Tree program will once again help bring hope, joy, and Christmas morning smiles to hundreds of children and families throughout Wayne and Sampson Counties.

We are incredibly grateful for our faithful sponsors, churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals who return year after year to make Angel Tree possible. Your generosity has helped us provide Christmas for hundreds of local children, and we simply could not do it without you. ❤️💚

As we begin planning for this year’s season, we’re looking for additional corporate and community sponsors who would be willing to adopt 10 or more Angels. Every sponsorship helps us reach more families and ensure that no child is forgotten at Christmas.

If your business, organization, church, or group is interested in adopting 10 or more Angels this year, drop a 🎄 in the comments below, and we’ll reach out with more information! Or just give us a call at 919-735-4811 (ask for the Head Elf!) or send an email to [email protected]!

Together, we can make Christmas brighter for even more families in our community.

Y’all showed UP! 💙🌀

We want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has donated fans already. Because of your generosity, several individuals and families have already received relief from this summer heat!

…BUT apparently North Carolina looked at our fan supply and said, “That’s cute.” ☀️🥵

We have officially blown through the fans we had already received, and the need is still growing quickly. We are once again asking for NEW fans only...box fans, oscillating fans, tower fans...anything to help keep our neighbors cool and safe during these dangerously hot days.

If you’ve ever stood directly in front of a fan and whispered, “This is my ministry,” now’s your moment. 😂

Thank you for helping us love our community in practical ways — one fan at a time! 💙

Every year on the first Friday of June, America celebrates National Donut Day with sweet treats, colorful sprinkles, and irresistible donut deals. But behind every sugary bite is a story even sweeter~ a story of courage, compassion, and a group of remarkable women who brought hope to those who needed it most.

On June 5, we celebrate the legacy of The Salvation Army’s beloved “Donut Lassies.” During World War I, these brave women traveled to the front lines, serving soldiers not only freshly fried donuts, but also comfort, encouragement, friendship, and a reminder of home. In the midst of uncertainty and hardship, a simple donut became a symbol of care and compassion.

National Donut Day was established by The Salvation Army in 1938 to honor these extraordinary women and the lasting impact of their service. Their story reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness~ a warm smile, a helping hand, or yes, even a donut~ can bring tremendous joy and hope to someone’s day.

So as you enjoy a donut today, take a moment to remember the Donut Lassies and the beautiful truth they lived out: a little kindness can go a long way. 🍩❤️
