What do you do when life leaves you confused, discouraged, or searching for answers?
In this week’s message from Luke 24, we walked alongside the disciples as Jesus opened their minds to understand the Scriptures before His ascension into heaven. What once seemed confusing suddenly became clear: His suffering, resurrection, forgiveness, and promise of salvation had been God’s plan from the very beginning.
We reflected on the significance of the number 40 throughout Scripture — from the flood, to Moses on Mount Sinai, to Israel wandering in the wilderness, to Jesus fasting in the desert, and finally the 40 days between Jesus’ resurrection and ascension. In the Bible, 40 often represents preparation, testing, transformation, and the beginning of something new.
Before ascending into heaven, Jesus spent 40 days preparing His disciples — opening their minds, strengthening their faith, and getting them ready for what was coming next.
Together we pray this simple prayer: “Lord, open my mind.”
And now, as we move toward Pentecost Sunday, we remember that the story doesn’t end with the ascension. The Holy Spirit is coming. The disciples who once waited in uncertainty would soon be filled with boldness, power, and purpose.
Join us this coming Sunday at 9am and 11am as we celebrate Pentecost — the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the birth of the Church. Come expecting worship, renewal, and a fresh reminder that God is still moving today.
