Chaz Daughtry is the founder of Sweetwater Farms HTX () in Houston, a community-based agricultural project built around a simple but powerful mission: growing fresh food, growing young minds, and growing community at the same time.

At Sweetwater Farms HTX, farming goes beyond food production. The space is designed to address local food access challenges while also giving young people hands-on exposure to agriculture, sustainability, and where their food actually comes from. It turns farming into both nourishment and education.

By combining fresh produce with youth learning, the farm tackles two issues at once: food insecurity and limited access to practical, real-world agricultural experience. This approach transforms the land into both a food source and a learning environment for the next generation.

The project has received strong community support online, with thousands of reactions and shares celebrating it as an example of how local, community-led agriculture can create long-term impact in underserved areas.

To all parents and guardians, it is essential to recognize that every child possesses the capacity to learn, albeit through different methods. The key to unlocking their potential lies in identifying the most effective learning strategies for each individual. Rather than focusing on limitations, we should emphasize the diverse ways people learn, including visual-pictures, auditory-listening and kinesthetic -hands on approaches.

It is crucial to avoid labeling children as incapable or disabled, as this can have lasting negative impacts on their self-perception and motivation. Instead, we should foster a supportive environment that encourages learning, growth, and development. According to Daniel 1:17, God grants individuals skill and wisdom in all learning.

As caregivers, we must provide children with love, attention, training, discipline, and guidance, while also modeling respect and authority. By doing so, we can empower them with the skills and confidence necessary for success.

Our experience with four children and over 13 grandchildren has taught us the importance of these values, and we wish to share them with you. Let’s remember parents/guardians are the children’s first teachers & our homes is the first classroom! Dr. Paula S. Artis

I heard on yesterday a elementary school students was rushed to Emergency Room here in Durham yesterday, he was sick from medication one of his classmates brought to school, he told his parents that, one of his classmates brought pills to school & was passing the medication out to the students & telling the students it was only something like a energy drink to help them do good in school. Please pray with your children and inform them NOT to take things like these from other children. LET US ALL PRAY FOR ALL OUR CHILDREN. COVER OUR CHILDREN IN YOUR BLOOD IN JESUS NAME #
