In our February CPR Conversation, we sit down and talk with Ryan Vernon, Pastor of 902 Church in Kinston about this very call!

As always, we appreciate your partnership in the Kingdom!

What if God is calling us to plant, and part of that call is to plant in places where God has historically worked? In this episode, Ryan Vernon, Pastor of 90...

As the mission of Church Planting and Renewal, our focus remains on helping with the establishment of new, healthy OFWB congregations, as well as walking alongside tenured and matured congregations as they seek to work for God's Kingdom in their own communities.

As this work matures, we continue to lay the foundation upon which we might see a healthy harvest -- even if that mature harvest comes after our time here on earth is completed. And honestly, that may be one of the hardest conversations we have in our own places and spaces of worship and Christian formation -- we seek to build that which we may never fully realize...
..and that mirrors an historical, and biblical model.

Take Moses, for example, a leader of God's people for decades. The one whose presence and posture were used by God to free an enslaved people -- Israel -- and to move them to a new home in that Cannan land. As a leader, he knew that he could take the people as far as they could go in his lifetime, but that even afterwards, they still had more to do. In Deuteronomy 31, Moses says his farewell to the people -- and then tells them the work is not done. In fact, he encourages them to be brave, remember God's teaching, and to follow those who will lead them next...to a land that they have yet to own.

What if, in our own spaces, we saw ourselves like Moses - leading those in our spaces of influence as far as God is willing to allow us - and then trusting, charging, and encouraging them to keep going beyond what we could see possible? And in seeing ourselves like this, we lived in such a way that allows the legacy God has granted us, to be that foundation upon which the Kingdom will continue to be built?

At Church Planting and Renewal, 2026 will be a special year -- it will be a year of building for the Kingdom of God. Building of new Bodies of Christ, building of new congregational visions, building of new teams and leaders, and building new pathways in the Kingdom - for the Kingdom - and by the King of that Kingdom - Jesus Christ, our Lord.

So, will you pray with us? Will you partner with us? And will you begin to ask, "What if our call is to be Moses, looking ahead to what God can do, and using that which God has trusted us with for building that future - for building that Kingdom?"

Thank you all for your support in this year, and we look forward to what comes in the year ahead!

Good morning, friends!

As the biblical author says - there is a season for everything - and importantly, we want to be fully present in each of those seasons!

Thus, we have taken stock of this present season, and realized that rescheduling is needed in order to truly honor that which God makes possible for His Kingdom.

That means that our Start Here event, initially scheduled for this coming Saturday in Lumberton, will be postponed to the spring (April 21st)! But do not worry, our January 2026 event in Rocky Mount is still on schedule! Registrations will go live for that event very soon -- so be on the lookout!

As always, thank you for continuing to support your Church Planting and Renewal ministry!

What can God do with your ministry? Better yet, what if God could do so much more with the ministry He has entrusted to you?

Simple, but heavy questions, right? And questions that many of us are asking as we seek first that Kingdom that is of God - and not of our own!

So what if the answer, or at least the next step towards that answer, started by simply taking a few hours out of a Saturday to come together with other Christians to dream, dialogue, and become inspired?

Would you be interested?

If so, take just a few moments to register for our Start Here event that takes place on December 6th at Hyde Park Baptist Church in Lumberton. Registration can be found at www.ncbaptist.org/starthere -- and I can promise you it will be worth the time and commitment!

And once you have done that, share this post and tag the pastoral and congregational leaders that you know, so that they, too, might move forward with you!

What if moving towards renewal was as simple as the next right step? And what if that step helped to align you with Christ's call to His followers? And what if, by taking that aligned step...your church saw its Kingdom purpose fulfilled?

On December 6th and January 24th, we will gather together to Start Here -- as we seek answers to those questions!

Take a few moments to watch this video, then head over to https://ncbaptist.org/events/revitalizenc-start-here/ and register to attend one or both of these upcoming events!

When you're finished, take a moment to tag and share this post with all of your OFWB family!

See you all soon!
