Today's volunteer spotlight shines on Dave Devitt! If you've had the privilege of attending a Sunday service with the band JUiCe performing onstage, you've heard the sweet music that Dave and his bandmates make together. One of his favorite memories with the band was playing the Evening with JUiCe concert last year. Did you know that Dave has been playing guitar since he was a kid?

Thank you, Dave, for sharing your musical talent with us, and for everything you've done & continue to do for our community.

Volunteer spotlight! You might have seen Jess Hendrickson ushering folks to their seats for our Sunday services, passing the offering plate, and being a friendly presence for all who walk through our front doors.

Not only has Jess been an incredible volunteer for our congregation, he's also spent time volunteering at the Temple Grandin Equine Center at CSU Spur, helping provide horse therapy to kids & adults.

Do you enjoy eating food and playing board games with old & new friends? On second Fridays throughout the summer, you can do just that at our Community Board Game Night & Potluck!

Bring your favorite board games or card games, and bring a dish to share. Our next meeting will be next Friday, May 8, from 5-8 pm. See you there!

Bystander Training with Regan Byrd!

When you witness a harmful situation, what do you do? Learning to intervene as a bystander requires practice & tools. It's easy to fall into the bystander effect: where we ignore, flee, or freeze in situations of harm, and look to others to resolve it.

Volunteer Spotlight! Jan Ashford wants to give a shoutout to Julie and Ken Andrus, who helped organize our interfaith Habitat for Humanity build day last month, as well as all the volunteers who showed up to help build a house on March 14: Jan, her son Jack Sokolowski, Patti Coe-Withington, Barbara Bronson, and Cliff Brown.

"(It was) a really wonderful day," says Jan. "I hope more congregation members join us in the future!"

Our next volunteer spotlight shines on Tara McKinster! Tara has given her time teaching in our Faith Exploration program, connecting folks with Pastoral Care, facilitating a Going Deeper group and co-leading our Mom's Group, and somehow, that's not even all!

Thank you, Tara, for all that you've given and continue to give to our community. With our whole hearts, we appreciate you!

Happy National Volunteer Month to all of the wonderful folks who keep our church running! Our first volunteer spotlight of the month shines on the legendary Family Promise 'Dream Team': Pam Moser, Elaine Zerger, and Betty Lynn Ferguson.

We also want to send a shout out to Jeri Apodaca! Last week, Jeri came and shared her own story of receiving care from Family Promise of Greater Denver. Now, she pays it forward by serving as the Executive Director of this incredible program.

Thank you Dream Team, thank you Jeri & Family Promise, and thank you to the 80-90 volunteers who make our Family Promise host weeks possible.
