Psalms 19:1

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

What a beautiful verse! God shows us His glory daily by the world he created for us. Most of the time we miss it because we are too busy and too distracted.

For this labor day spend some time in His handywork. Take a few moments to stop and just enjoy what He provides.

Today's devotion

Psalm 127:3:

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."

For those that don't know, dove season opener is my favorite day of the year. Some love Christmas, others Thanksgiving but for me, it's dove day! Each year since i was a little boy, I've tossed and turned the night before, just waiting till my alarm went off signaling the start. I always enjoyed it because it was a day each year dad and i got to hang out and socialize. The trash talk and "almost got em" stories only made it better. Thankfully the Lord blessed me with a son who enjoys it just as much. It's truly a blessing being able to be on the other side and be the one to teach.

Today i challenge you to spend time with your family. Put the phone down and just enjoy the time the Lord has given you with those who matter the most!

Today's Devotion

Psalms 103:12

As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

One of my personal favorite verses! This verse drives home the awesome power and mercy the the Lord gives us. The world and the devil will continually try to bring up your past. Once your saved and cleansed with the blood of Jesus, your sins are not only forgiven but cast as far as the east is to the west!

Today's challenge

Take some time today to just thank Him. Thank for his love mercy and grace.

Today's devotion

Proverbs 11:2

“When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.”

One of the most frequent warnings the Bible gives centers around pride. Pride sits at the core of most conflicts that arise in our lives. Pride splits families, churches, communities and friends apart. None of us are insulated from the effects of pride. We must keep a constant vigilance on our own walk with the Lord to prevent falling. Pride is easily seen with others, yet extremely difficult to recognize in our own lives. Hence why wisdom comes to those who can reflect on their own issues and seek the Lords assistance with them.

My challenge today. Reflect back on your last three interpersonal conflicts that you have endured in your life. Prayerfully and honestly search for pride in them. If pride is found, give it to the Lord!

Today's Devotion

Proverbs 3:5

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Trust is hard to come by. It seems that in our daily lives we must continually be on guard. Politicians, friends, church members, news media, employers and even our families can break our trust. People fail. Systems fail. If we honestly search our own hearts, we discover we can even fail ourselves at times. That's why this verse is so important to study and adopt. Trust in the God who will not fail and will never lead you astray. When dealing with people, motives and feelings can be hidden or misconstrued. With the Lord His desire is to draw you as close to Him as he can. What He desires from you today is for you to give him your problems, burdens and worries. He will show you His way.

Today i challenge each of you to just spend time with God. Thank him for his blessings, pour out your fears, worries and problems. Then wait, study the Bible and listen. Often times we go to the Lord with issues seeking validation for the direction we have chosen rather then seeking his guidance. Are you fully trusting in him today?
