St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, Gold Hill, NC Working to be a good neighbor! Worship at 9:15 am Sundays, unless it’s Homecoming

Prayer is more than presenting a list of requests to God. It's slowing down long enough to hear His voice. It's bringing Him our fears, hopes, questions, and gratitude... and then resting in His presence. Some of the most meaningful moments with God happen not when we're speaking, but when we're listening. πŸ™

God is always listening to us, but perhaps today the invitation is to pause long enough to listen to Him. His peace, wisdom, and guidance are often found in places the world rushes past. If you'd like more encouragement like this throughout the week, we'd love for you to join our free weekly devotional and explore our worship playlists designed to help you slow down, spend time with God, and create space to hear His voice. Everything is linked in our bio.

God of compassion, you have opened the way for us and brought us to yourself. Pour your love into our hearts, that, overflowing with joy, we may freely share the blessings of your realm and faithfully proclaim the good news of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

πŸ™ Prayer from Sundays and Seasons.

The world gives us plenty of opportunities to be frustrated. To criticize. To react. To focus on what is wrong. But some of the happiest people I've met are those who choose a different path. They lead with kindness. They extend grace. They look for ways to encourage rather than tear down. A gentle heart doesn't mean a weak heart. It takes strength to respond with compassion when irritation would be easier. πŸ™

Jesus did this beautifully. Again and again, He met people with truth wrapped in love. Today, may we give a little more patience, a little more understanding, and a little more of our heart to the people around us. You never know how much a simple act of kindness may mean to someone who is carrying a burden you cannot see. If our posts encourage you, we'd love for you to join our free weekly devotional for ongoing encouragement and Scripture-centered reflections. You'll also find worship playlists and other resources designed to help you grow closer to God. And for those who feel called to help us continue sharing hope with millions each month, our ministry is entirely crowd-funded through the generosity of people who believe in this mission. It's easy to admire the beauty of God's creation. A sunrise. A mountain view. A flower in bloom. Even the intricate design of something as simple as a kiwi. Yet sometimes we struggle to see that same beauty in ourselves. We notice our flaws before our strengths. Our mistakes before our growth. Our failures before the grace God has poured into our lives. ❀️

But the same God who created oceans, forests, stars, and every living thing also created you. On purpose. With care. With value. You are not an accident. You are not overlooked. You are not forgotten. You are one of His creations, deeply loved and wonderfully made. If you're learning to see yourself through God's eyes instead of the world's expectations, our *Be Still and Follow* devotional was created to help you slow down, hear His voice, and grow in your relationship with Him. We also share a free weekly devotional filled with encouragement for everyday life. You can find both through the link in our bio. πŸ’•

It's easy to shape Jesus into our preferences, our traditions, or our opinions. It's much harder... and much more transformative... to allow Him to shape us. πŸ™

Jesus didn't come to fit neatly into our categories. He came to reveal the heart of God. His invitation has always been the same: follow Me. Not follow a culture. Not follow a label. Not follow a tribe. Follow Me.

The closer we walk with Him, the more we begin to love what He loves, extend grace as He did, and reflect His heart to a world that desperately needs hope. If you're looking for thoughtful, Christ-centered encouragement throughout the week, we'd love to welcome you into our community. Receive our FREE weekly devotional filled with practical faith, hope, and encouragement for everyday life. Everything is linked in our bio.

Thank you for being part of the Mindful Christianity family.

Every sunrise is a reminder that this day is a gift from God. You will never live this exact moment again... so breathe deeply, notice the beauty around you, and thank Him for the grace that carried you here. β€œThis is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” β€” Psalm 118:24 πŸ’œ

Even ordinary days become sacred when we slow down enough to recognize God’s presence within them. If you need encouragement for your journey, our devotionals, peaceful worship playlists, guided prayer resources, and monthly ministry support community are all linked in bio. Thank you for helping us continue sharing hope and God’s peace online every day.

Following Jesus is not about being perfect β€” it’s about becoming more loving, more faithful, more compassionate, and more surrendered one day at a time. Some days we lead with courage. Some days we simply hold on to grace. But through every season, God keeps shaping our hearts to look a little more like Him. πŸ™Œ

May we pray boldly, serve humbly, love deeply, and trust God even when the path ahead feels uncertain. If your soul needs encouragement and peace, our devotionals and calming worship playlists are designed to help you reconnect with God through scripture, prayer, worship, and mindful reflection each day. And if this ministry has encouraged you, monthly giving helps us continue creating daily faith-filled content, devotionals, worship music, and peaceful resources for hearts around the world. Everything is linked in bio on our page. πŸ’›
