Youth Mission Trip – Final Day of Service! ❤️

What an incredible way to wrap up our week of serving!

Today our group was assigned to help an amazing woman named Isabelle with landscaping around her home. Let me tell you… she ran circles around all of us! 😊 She was such a joy to spend time with, sharing stories about the many places she’s lived and teaching us about her life. She speaks four languages—Navajo, Apache, Spanish, and English—and hearing her experiences was just as much a blessing as being able to help her.

After finishing at Isabelle’s, we headed to a local cemetery to help with cleanup. It was fascinating to see the historic headstones and learn a little more about the community’s history. The heat was definitely intense, and when a storm rolled in, we wrapped things up and headed back for showers, dinner, and our evening talent show.

And wow… we have some incredibly talented—and very brave!—people in our group! 😂 It was the perfect way to celebrate an unforgettable week together.

As we finished our final day of service, my heart is so full. I couldn’t be prouder of every one of our youth and chaperones. They worked hard, served with joyful hearts, and truly reflected God’s love through their actions all week long. What a blessing it has been to witness their compassion, teamwork, and willingness to serve others. ❤️🙏

Last day of work in Dulce, NM for our youth on this mission trip! This group helped an elder, Mary, by painting her porch and walkway. Many hands make light work! St. Margaret's should be so proud of their youth who have worked hard doing God's work this week!

Yesterday the girls took on the hike, and today the boys rose early to do the same.

It wasn’t just about the climb—it was about coming together, supporting one another, and experiencing true fellowship in God’s glory.

Moments like these remind us how powerful it is to grow in faith side by side.

Youth Mission Trip – Day 5! ☀️⛰️❤️

What a day!

We started bright and early with a 5:00 a.m. hike up the mountain to watch the sunrise, and it was absolutely breathtaking. The climb was a little challenging in places, but that didn’t stop us from laughing, encouraging one another, and having a little fun along the way!

Later, our team was assigned to help a local family clean up their yard. Lightning had struck one of their trees, and according to their tradition, they are not allowed to cut the tree down. Instead, we helped by cleaning up the fallen branches and debris around it while respecting their wishes.

These teens jumped right in—weedeating, raking, hauling branches, and working together without hesitation. It was a hot, sunny, and sweaty afternoon, but they never complained. They simply kept serving with smiles on their faces and hearts full of joy.

The homeowner was so grateful that she brought us cold waters and even asked to take a picture with our group. Moments like these remind us that serving others isn’t just about the work we do—it’s about the relationships we build and the love we share.

I couldn’t be more proud of this group. Their teamwork, compassion, and servant hearts continue to inspire me every single day. 💙🙏

Safe to say these teens are making a lasting impact—both on the community and on everyone lucky enough to witness them in action. ❤️

Youth Mission Trip – Day 4 ❤️

I’m a little behind on posting because we’ve been so busy, but Day 4 was one to remember!

Our group was assigned to scrape the stained glass windows at St. Anthony Church, as well as clean the church and surrounding grounds. These teens absolutely amazed me with their leadership, teamwork, and willingness to serve. They worked hard, encouraged one another, and took so much pride in making this beautiful place shine again.

I couldn’t be more proud of this incredible group. Watching them put their faith into action and serve with joyful hearts has been such a blessing. 💙🙏

Another great day of mission work in Dulce, NM! One of the teams helped clean up the yard of a very sweet (and very young 94-year-old) Bernie Gomez! After our work day was complete, we were able to sit in adoration and celebrate the sacrament of reconciliation before attending mass at St. Francis. One of the locals, Herbie Gomez (Bernie's son) handed out gifts (wooden crosses) to all of us here so that we would have something to remember them by, as they remember us! He also gave the adults coffee mugs so that we would remember them as we were drinking our coffee!
