Our summer show is now on the calendar and it's time for casting!
Auditions will be held Monday, May 27 at Village Hall in Annisquam. Youth who enjoy being on stage are highly encouraged to participate! Go to the website link below for complete audition information, the roles, and copies of what you'll have to sing and read.

The show can't go on without you. If you have any interest in theatre production or just like being part of fun community endeavors, please consider volunteering for this summer's production. Contributions include lighting, set building, prop making, costume/makeup, publicity, ushering, and more! DM us if you're interested!

"Cinderella" is a Rodgers & Hammerstein musical based on the popular fairy tale by Charles Perrault. Originally created for live TV in the 1950s, it was the only musical Rodgers & Hammerstein ever wrote for television and did not open on Broadway until 2013. On Aug. 6-11, the AVP will perform the show nightly at 7 p.m.

Saturday, January 21, 7 pm at the Annisquam Village Church

As You Like It brings a newly-composed score to the Annisquam Village Church on Saturday, January 21 at 7pm.

Artist-in-Residence Scott Moore created the eclectic large-scale work throughout the spring and summer, playing and recording every instrument himself. The music brings to life the forms and gestures of Shakespeare’s beloved pastoral comedy with a fun, fresh pastiche of styles and sounds—from absurd, neo-Baroque strings and harpsichord, to hip-hop drums and impressionist dream folk. Originally commissioned by the Louisville (KY) Ballet, and premiered as a ballet in August, the piece has been substantially reworked to include dialogue from the play, delivered live by Gloucester’s rising theater stars, Lanes Coven.

Conversation with the composer will chronicle the journey from conception to premiere, illuminating the artistic process and framing the evening’s performance. A feast for the ears and the mind, this unusual and enchanting evening will also feature light refreshments.

All are welcome; donations are gratefully accepted and will benefit the AVC music program.

Folly Cove Designers Tablecloth in Friday Night Auction

For all you lovers of Folly Cove Designs, this large, rectangular tablecloth (96’ x 54”) was designed and hand-blocked in 1957 by Annisquam’s own Peggy Norton. In near mint condition, it features Peggy’s Deciduous design printed in a beautiful russet brown on heavy, creamy linen. Peggy was an early member of the Folly Cove Designers artist guild founded by Virginia Lee Burton Demetrios and was active from the 1940s to the 1960s.

This rare find was donated by local collector Patty Hock.

Beth Williams Studio

Beth Williams has been a studio jeweler for more than 35 years. Combining her handmade flameworked glass with precious metals she creates contemporary elegant jewelry that balances the varied materials, resulting in unique pieces the owner can wear with comfort and pleasure. Pure gold or silver granules, threads and precious foils accent many of Beth’s lampworked beads, reflecting her signature style that has been recognized in publications and juried exhibitions across the country. Her work can be found online as well as in several galleries across the US and Canada and she is proud to have one of her pieces included in the inaugural “President’s Collection” for the Corning Museum of Glass. She maintains a
working studio/gallery within sight of the beautiful harbor of historic downtown Gloucester, Massachusetts.

Cape Ann has so many lovely venues for painting. I particularly enjoy the early light of the morning and evening.

The yacht clubs are a wonderful gathering place for boaters of all kinds. I am a true fan of sailing.
