This past Sunday, the Hamburg Baptist Church had the awesome privilege to honor Ms. Brenda Jennings for over 50 years of service as a Sunday School teacher. Ms. Brenda came to the Pastor a few weeks ago and told him that it was time to step down, as teaching was beginning to become a little too physically demanding. She said that her heart was still into teaching Sunday School, but her body was not. Ms. Brenda could not remember exactly when she began teaching Sunday School in the early 1970's, but she was confident that it was well over 50 years now. She also spent a career spanning 37 years in early childhood education throughout Jackson and Haywood counties. Needless to say, investing in children is definitely in Ms. Brenda's heart! There is really no telling just how many young lives that she has touched for the Glory of God. Thank you, Ms. Brenda, for telling so many young people about the Lord Jesus Christ. "For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister." - Hebrews 6:10
