We are also excited to have the Kevin Kizer Quartet performing at Concert for Peace: Passages. The magazine Jazz Times says this in an article about Kevin performing with Ted Sirota’s Rebel Souls: "The quartet’s tenor man, newcomer Kevin Kizer, has a wide expressive range that allows him to shriek effectively on the Rollins tune, to caress the album’s two lullabies, and to hungrily chomp the chords to Thelonious Monk’s 'Brilliant Corners'.” This is a video of Kevin from Sarlas Music https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1KPAMNqcPH/

Ms. Hughes is a member of the Glenview Community Church and for the last 11 years has organized the Concert for Peace. “The theme this year is Justice, and specifically the MLK Jr. quote: ‘There can be no peace without justice, and there can be no justice without peace,’” she says.

Thanks to all who braved the cold and came to Cabaret in the Commons last night. We had a great time with Jeannie and Stacy listening to Martin Luther King Junior's favorite songs. There was even someone in the audience who had heard him speak!
Plan to join us for the next concert on Valentine's Day!
