Glenview Community Church - United Church of Christ

Glenview Community Church - United Church of Christ Inspired by Christ, Enriched by Faith, Committed to Inclusivity. Serving God as advocates for Justice, Compassion, and Peace.

The Glenview Community Church, United Church of Christ, unites Christians of all denominations on the common principles of belief in God, Christ, the Bible, and the Church, with each member interpreting these beliefs as conscience dictates. We propose to live in the fellowship and ways of God and to follow
the leadership of Jesus Christ in all our life’s experiences so far as God’s ways and Chris

t’s leadership are made known to us. We strive to know the will of God as taught in the Bible and all other sources and to walk
in the ways of God made known to us. We hold it our church’s mission to proclaim the message of Jesus Christ to all people, exalting in the worship of the one true God. We labor for the progress of knowledge, the promotion of justice and the reign of peace in the world. In 2010, the congregation voted to strengthen their commitment to this purpose by officially becoming an Open and Affirming church, welcoming all people regardless of their sexual orientation.

Fellowship Hour at GCC is at the heart of our church community life! Helping out by bringing treats and serving is a wonderful way to support the life of our church! Each Sunday a rotating group of "Fellowship Team Leads" provide coffee, beverages, and guidance to volunteers. We are in need of volunteers to bring treats in June and July! Each Sunday we are looking for 8 dozen cookies (or the equivalent in fruits, cheese & crackers, etc.). Please click below to sign up to bring a treat! Thank you!

We had a wonderful first gathering on Monday as participants from Glenview Community Church and Glenview Methodist church came together to discuss the book, God Didn't Make Us to Hate Us, by Rev. Lizzie McManus-Dail. We explored what it means to embrace God's love and live with compassion! There's still time to join us for our remaining discussions! We'd love to see you! Our next meeting is at GCC on Monday, June 15th at 6:30 p.m.
