Holocaust survivors deserve a day of joy; a day of celebration. Not a day to share with condemnation of the N***s, but a day to celebrate their lives they built in response to the Holocaust. Survivors represent the best in all of us, the best of the human spirit.

Many thanks to Josh and Rob for teaching our Greater Glens Falls Hebrew School students how to braid challah (and for making the dough and baking the loaves)! The kids were so excited to take home their very own challahs!

Dear Temple Beth El Community,

On Sunday, June 7, Glens Falls City Park will be filled with joy, community and celebration for the Lower Adirondack Pride Festival—and Temple Beth El is going to be right in the heart of it! 🏳️‍🌈

We are hosting a booth to showcase our vibrant, inclusive congregation and stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ family, friends and neighbors. To make this day a success, we are reaching out to ask for your hands, your energy and your hearts.

Here is how we can all work together to show up strong:

1. Give Your Time (Volunteer at the Booth)
We need friendly faces to staff our booth in shifts throughout the day. You’ll be greeting festival-goers, handing out water and sharing the warmth of our wonderful community. Whether you can spare one hour or three, your time makes a massive difference.

2. Donate Pride Swag
We want our booth to be as festive and welcoming as possible! Because we do not have a formal budget allocated for this event, we are relying entirely on the personal generosity of our members. If you are able to purchase and donate Pride-themed items to give away (think stickers, pins, flags), it would be very appreciated.

3. Hydrate the Community (Cases of Water)
June afternoons can get warm, and we want to keep everyone hydrated as they celebrate. We are looking for donations of cases of bottled water to hand out to festival visitors from our booth.

How to Sign Up or Donate:
If you can volunteer for a shift, drop off water or provide some festive swag, please reach out to Katie at the temple by Monday, June 1!

Thank you for helping Temple Beth El live our values of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and B'tselem Elohim (honoring the dignity of every human being). Let’s make this a proud, beautiful and meaningful day for our congregation and the wider Glens Falls community!

Dearest of Dear Congregants:
We never knew so many of you were attending services barefoot! If any of these items are yours (including the lone "sole" without a mate), please contact us so they can be collected. If you no longer want your item, please contact us so we can make them magically disappear from our coat closet.
Please and thank you.
