Encouragement for Today from the Word

We have an invitation from God in Isaiah 55:1: “All you who are thirsty, come and drink.” To receive an invitation is to be honored; for this reason, all invitations deserve a kind and thoughtful response.

But the most incredible invitations are not found in envelopes or fortune cookies—they are found in the Bible. You cannot read about God without finding Him giving invitations.

He invited Adam and Eve into relationship. He invited the animals into the ark. He invited David to be king, Israel to leave bo***ge, and Nehemiah to rebuild Jerusalem. On and on, the invitations are given.

God is a God who invites—a God who calls, a God who opens doors. His invitation is not just for a meal; it is for life.

Do not let the rejections of the past leave you wondering. His invitation is for whosoever will! This is an invitation for you, for me, and for all humanity to become God’s own.

Encouragement for Today from the Word

Matthew 12:18 says, “Here is my servant whom I have chosen, the one I love, in whom I delight.”

There are many things we can do as human beings. When I was growing up, a familiar saying was, “Can’t never could do nothing.”

We must understand our limitations. There are so many things we can accomplish, but the one thing that truly matters for eternity is something we could never do for ourselves—we cannot save ourselves. We cannot study enough, work enough, or plan enough.

In Scripture, we read of many miracles God has done. He has done what we could not imagine. He became man so we could know and trust Him. He became the sacrifice so we could be forgiven, and He defeated death so we could follow Him.

His ability to work miracles defies human logic. Yet it is this very impossibility that reveals His power. Only a Creator beyond the limits of human understanding could offer such a gift of forgiveness and love.

So remember this: God helps us accomplish many things, but the most important work is salvation for our souls. Do not be deceived—you cannot save yourself. But Jesus can forgive you and bring freedom to every area of your life. This is why He came.

Encouragement for Today from the Word

Take God at His Word

We need to take God at His word. It sounds simple enough, especially when life is smooth sailing. But in the midst of a storm, even the disciples of Jesus needed a reminder. Like them, we too need to remember that we can take Him at His word.

The story is found in Mark 4:35–40. Jesus told His disciples to get into the boat and cross to the other side. The storm that came upon them was meant to teach them—and us—to trust God’s word.

Jesus already knows the outcome of whatever you are facing today. Yes, storms will come as we journey through life. The winds of adversity will blow, and your boat of life may be tossed about. But remember: you always have a choice to make.

Will you listen to Christ or the crisis? Will you heed the promises of Scripture or the noise of the storm? Will you take God at His word?

Encouragement for Today from the Word

God is in Charge!
“Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.” — Psalm 34:3

Are you feeling discouraged about how your life is going? Then turn to God’s Word for encouragement. Scripture tells us to “magnify the Lord with me.” When you magnify an object, you enlarge it so you can see it more clearly. Similarly, when we magnify God, we focus on His goodness and His willingness to help us navigate life’s battles.

Thinking about God and His blessings does us far more good than dwelling on the challenges we face. When we enlarge our awareness of Him, we gain a deeper understanding of how much He truly cares for us.

This is exactly what happens in worship. Worship lifts our minds off ourselves and our struggles, redirecting our hearts to praise God for all He has done, is doing, and will do. Magnifying God through worship and prayer reminds us that He is in control. He will help us as we celebrate His marvelous works and the love He freely offers to all.

So, face this day worshipping and praising God for who He is—and never forget: He’s in charge!

Encouragement for Today from the Word: Help Is Available

God has already provided forgiveness for all who will accept it. The Bible tells us that God is willing to take away our sins (John 1:29). He is willing to forget them (Hebrews 10:17). He will blot them out (Isaiah 43:25). He will pardon them (Isaiah 55:7). He will even bury them in the depths of the sea (Micah 7:19).

If we truly want to overcome, we must understand what God has promised to do. We must accept His help and begin to act upon it. God will forgive us if we accept His forgiveness and are honest with Him and ourselves.

Unfortunately, we have the ability to deceive ourselves. We often make excuses for our failures or blame them on someone or something else. We must take responsibility for our actions.

Today, if we are honest with ourselves and with God, He will forgive us and help us begin to walk with Him daily. The question is: will we accept God’s invitation for deliverance? He’s waiting!
