Today is Miracle Monday!
To celebrate, I’ve asked an alumna of Promise of Hope Tattnall to share her miracle with all of you. Her story is a reminder that recovery is about so much more than completing a program—it’s an ongoing journey of growth, healing, and perseverance through life’s challenges and victories.
As you read, remember that recovery is not just about where you started or where you are today; it’s about continuing to move forward, one day at a time. Every step in the right direction is a miracle worth celebrating.
“Being Rowen’s mom has been one of the greatest blessings and challenges of my life. As a mom to a child with Dravet Syndrome, I’ve witnessed firsthand the battles, setbacks, victories, and miracles that come with this journey.
Recovery has shaped me into the person and mom I am today. It has taught me resilience, strength, perseverance, and the importance of taking life one day at a time. We celebrate the good days and have hope and be still on the bad days. I remember that nothing happens in Gods world by mistake and as Iong as I am doing the next right thing, God always does the rest. If we make mistakes we learn from them and do something different next time; to never give up, no matter what. These are just a few of the many things I have learned from recovery. Recovery is my foundation to being the best mama I can be to rowen and a guiding force behind every decision I make not only in my life but Rowen’s life as well. It helps me navigate through every phase of Rowens care from medications, doctors appointments hospitals, treatment, therapies, IEPs and being his greatest advocate who pushes for quality care and better treatment options for my son when some might feel it would be easier to give up. Every challenge Rowen faces reminds me that we are stronger than we think, and that with faith, hope, and determination, we can move mountains and break down barriers. Recovery has taught me that we can do hard things, and that I can do anything I set my mind too.
Today, I find myself breaking down walls in my son’s care, advocating for better treatment options, raising awareness, and fighting for the research that will one day lead to a cure for Dravet syndrome. This mission is deeply personal, and it is fueled by the love I have for my son.
I would not be able to do this without the principles, tools, and skills I gained through POHT. Those lessons helped change my life and taught me that no matter what life puts in front of us, we can get through it one day at a time.
My faith has carried me through the hardest moments. Trusting in God and leaning on His strength has helped shape me into the person God always intended me to be.
I wouldn’t get to be a mom today without recovery. Im forever grateful for growth and change. Recovery is and will always be my greatest miracle that God has given me.”
