There’s Just Something About Sundays….

Sundays remind us that no matter what the week has held—victories, struggles, mistakes, or growth—God’s grace is still enough. Recovery teaches us to take life one day at a time, and Sunday gives us a chance to pause, reflect, and remember that we don’t walk this journey alone.

Saturday Recovery Reflection

Saturday is a reminder that recovery isn’t just about getting through the hard days—it’s about learning how to enjoy the good ones too. In active addiction, weekends often revolved around chaos, isolation, or unhealthy choices. In recovery, Saturday becomes an opportunity to build a life worth staying sober for.

Today, take time to be present. Attend a meeting, spend time with people who support your recovery, enjoy a hobby, or simply rest without guilt. Every healthy choice you make today is another brick in the foundation of your new life.

“Recovery isn’t just about avoiding what hurts us—it’s about embracing what helps us grow.”

Happy Saturday! Make it a day filled with gratitude, purpose, and recovery. 💜

Congratulations to our very own Sarah on her two years of Sobriety!

Sarah is our Residential Manager here at Promise of Hope Tattnall. Her hard work and dedication to our residents does not go unnoticed.

“My name is Sarah, and I am an addict. When I got to Promise of Hope Tattnall I was broken mentally, physically, and most of all spiritually. I struggled with addiction for more than 30 years. I used drugs, people, and places, anything to make me feel different than the pain I felt inside. I felt useless, ashamed, discouraged, empty and I isolated myself from everyone that cared for me.

Promise of Hope Tattnall gave me a safe place to recover. I mean it is in between two cow pastures lol. For so long every aspect of my life was centered on being high. Promise of Hope Tattnall educated me on the disease of addiction laying out pretty much a roadmap to recovery. A therapeutic community for accountability, life skills where I learned how to identify feelings, and healthier ways to cope with life on life's terms. There were 12-step meetings and sponsorship to learn more about how to look inside instead of the outside and fellowship, understanding, and accountability. There was Church and Bible study for spiritual growth and understanding.

What I feel like I have gained most is Gratitude. Gratitude to everyone who makes up Promise of Hope Tattnall. Staff, Alumni, Volunteers, Churches, Board members, donations, etc.

My family is gently being re-stored, my relationship and understanding of God is growing. I learn the definition of Grace and Mercy each day is new. I have hope today and a future forthat I am forever grateful.”

Occasionally, our women have the empowering opportunity to participate in Celebrate Recovery, expanding their network and resources in a supportive community.

What Is Celebrate Recovery?

At our recovery residence, we believe that healing and growth thrive when people connect with others, find hope, and receive support. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered program that equips individuals to overcome life's challenges, break free from negative patterns, and discover a more fulfilling life.

Through open sharing, personal growth, accountability, and faith, participants develop healthy coping strategies and form meaningful connections with others who understand their journey.

Recovery is a transformative process that goes beyond overcoming addiction; it's about embracing freedom, purpose, and a renewed way of living. Celebrate Recovery provides a safe and nurturing environment to take this journey one day at a time.

Today is Miracle Monday!

To celebrate, I’ve asked an alumna of Promise of Hope Tattnall to share her miracle with all of you. Her story is a reminder that recovery is about so much more than completing a program—it’s an ongoing journey of growth, healing, and perseverance through life’s challenges and victories.

As you read, remember that recovery is not just about where you started or where you are today; it’s about continuing to move forward, one day at a time. Every step in the right direction is a miracle worth celebrating.

“Being Rowen’s mom has been one of the greatest blessings and challenges of my life. As a mom to a child with Dravet Syndrome, I’ve witnessed firsthand the battles, setbacks, victories, and miracles that come with this journey.

Recovery has shaped me into the person and mom I am today. It has taught me resilience, strength, perseverance, and the importance of taking life one day at a time. We celebrate the good days and have hope and be still on the bad days. I remember that nothing happens in Gods world by mistake and as Iong as I am doing the next right thing, God always does the rest. If we make mistakes we learn from them and do something different next time; to never give up, no matter what. These are just a few of the many things I have learned from recovery. Recovery is my foundation to being the best mama I can be to rowen and a guiding force behind every decision I make not only in my life but Rowen’s life as well. It helps me navigate through every phase of Rowens care from medications, doctors appointments hospitals, treatment, therapies, IEPs and being his greatest advocate who pushes for quality care and better treatment options for my son when some might feel it would be easier to give up. Every challenge Rowen faces reminds me that we are stronger than we think, and that with faith, hope, and determination, we can move mountains and break down barriers. Recovery has taught me that we can do hard things, and that I can do anything I set my mind too.

Today, I find myself breaking down walls in my son’s care, advocating for better treatment options, raising awareness, and fighting for the research that will one day lead to a cure for Dravet syndrome. This mission is deeply personal, and it is fueled by the love I have for my son.

I would not be able to do this without the principles, tools, and skills I gained through POHT. Those lessons helped change my life and taught me that no matter what life puts in front of us, we can get through it one day at a time.

My faith has carried me through the hardest moments. Trusting in God and leaning on His strength has helped shape me into the person God always intended me to be.
I wouldn’t get to be a mom today without recovery. Im forever grateful for growth and change. Recovery is and will always be my greatest miracle that God has given me.”

Sunday is a good reminder that recovery isn’t about being perfect—it’s about showing up one day at a time. Every sober morning is a chance to start fresh, practice gratitude, and continue building a life we don’t need to escape from.

Today, take a moment to appreciate how far you’ve come. The challenges of yesterday are behind you, and the future can wait. Focus on today, because recovery happens in the present.

“Stay where your feet are. Just for today, choose recovery, choose hope, and choose yourself.”

Happy Sunday. May your day be filled with peace, gratitude, and another 24 hours of recovery. 💜

National Naloxone Awareness Day

Today we recognize the power of hope, second chances, and lives saved.

Naloxone (Narcan) has given countless people another opportunity to recover, reconnect with loved ones, and build a life beyond addiction. Carrying naloxone isn’t about expecting the worst—it’s about being prepared to save a life when every second counts.

Recovery is possible. Every life has value. Every saved life is another chance for healing.

“You can’t recover from an overdose you don’t survive.”

Take a moment today to learn about naloxone, carry it if you can, and help spread awareness. One act of preparedness could make all the difference.
