I ask first of all, that you actually READ all of this (and not just put up praying hands), as I’m wanting prayers for myself, our church and God’s work in this world.
⸻
Over the last several weeks (really a couple months or longer), I’ve noticed a strong manifestation and mindset amongst people inside and outside of church.
Transparently, I’m frustrated, but even more than that… I’m heartbroken!
Mostly because I see Satan at work, hurting God’s work, but also in weaponizing fellow believers.
I share these thoughts with the hope of helping us to see and not succumb to being used by the enemy, as often is the case without many even realizing.
May I ask all who are reading this to ask the Lord as David did in:
Psalm 139:23-24
[23] Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: [24] And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Read on and may the Lord show us each where change is needed or solidify to remain what’s right and holy!

The contrast between complementing (building up, encouraging) and complaining (murmuring, criticizing) is a sobering theme in the Bible.
Scripture consistently presents speech as something that can either give life or cause harm.
Here’s a side-by-side look with relevant verses:
⸻
1. Complementing (Encouraging, Building Up)
Speech that strengthens others is praised:
* Ephesians 4:29
“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”
* Proverbs 16:24
“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
* 1 Thessalonians 5:11
“Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
* Proverbs 15:1
“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”
Principle: Complementing others reflects wisdom, love, and self-control. It builds unity and reflects God’s character.
⸻
2. Complaining (Murmuring, Negative Speech)
Scripture warns strongly against complaining:
* Philippians 2:14
“Do all things without murmurings and disputings.”
* 1 Corinthians 10:10
“Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.”
* Numbers 14:27
“How long shall I bear with this evil congregation, which murmur against me?”
* James 5:9
“Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned…”
Principle: Complaining often reflects discontentment, pride, or ingratitude—and often leads to division and destruction.
⸻
3. The Deep Contrast
* Complementing = faith, gratitude, humility, love
* Complaining = doubt, dissatisfaction, negativity
This contrast echoes a broader biblical truth:
* Proverbs 18:21
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”

“Forgiveness”
Forgiveness seen,
Important be,
When we’re the one in need,
But often lack,
And even slack,
Due others for their deeds.
Consider then,
How, where and when,
To have a vast supply,
For day will come,
This life be done,
Too oft we’d not ere try.
