The busiest week of the year, Holy Week, is nearly upon us as we reflect on Jesus's arrival in Jerusalem, last supper, arrest, trial, crucifixion, and resurrection. There is a LOT going on, so check out the details below!

First, if you haven't heard of our 2026 Lenten outreach recipient, Amica Center for Immigrant Rights, please check them out. They're doing great work providing support for both documented and undocumented immigrant adults and children navigating the court system in Maryland. You can donate to them through any platform you use to donate to St. George's, and select/write "Lenten Outreach" as the purpose.

Our Lenten program this year is from A Sanctified Art and is called "Tell Me Something Good." In a time often flooded with bad news, this program explores how Jesus’s radical, forward-thinking ministry inspires us to take action in a world desperate to hear, see, and taste what is good. You can read more here- https://sanctifiedart.org/tell-me-something-good-lent-bundle

St. George’s has purchased the booklets and materials for this program, which are available for pickup at church. St. Georgians are also invited to virtually gather weekly and reflect together on the materials, every Monday night at 7:00 pm via Zoom. The link is available on our website calendar below.

Aside from weekly meetings, we will also be posting some questions for consideration from the program throughout Lent. Keep your eyes open!

For questions, please contact Terry Doyle, Karen Horrocks, or Jocelyn Tidwell.

Thank you everyone who showed up for the Youth Group’s annual Pancake (and sausage) dinner last night! They raised $300 towards the middle schoolers’ trip to Philadelphia this summer and the Nightwatch at the end of Lent.

Blessings all,

Sunday's in-person services and events this week will be cancelled or postponed in anticipation of the winter storm, but we will be holding a virtual service. Please see Rev. Connie's message below for details. (This has also been emailed to all signed up for our newsletters.)

Dear Friends,

In light of the winter storm we will be holding Sunday’s service virtually and rescheduling the other activities planned for this Sunday January 25. Please note:

• 8:00 service is cancelled, as is Sunday School at 9:00. Sunday school resumes Feb. 8.

• The 10:00 am service will be held virtually with a zoom watch party of our pre-recorded service. You can join here (https://zoom.us/j/99133779351 ) or call in 301-715-8592, meeting ID 9913 377 9351
The service will also be available via YouTube and the link for that will be on our webpage on Sunday morning, found at the ‘online services’ page. You can also find our YouTube page here- https://youtube.com/.georgesglenndale1023

• The Youth Bake Sale will now be held on Sunday, February 8; all proceeds will go support the youth trip to Nightwatch at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC in March.

• The St. George’s Pizza Party has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 1 at 4:00 pm.

Also please note that the funeral service for Kay Chester will go on as scheduled on Saturday, January 24 at 10:00 am.

I ask us all to pray for all those who don’t have safe shelter as this storm and the bitter cold comes in and check on friends and neighbors as you can.

Blessings,

Connie+
