When February Fades

When your child says, "I'm transgender" or "I'm gay," your world can feel shattered. But here's the truth: this is a spiritual battle, not just about sexuality. It's about the soul of your child.

The prodigal's father didn't condemn—he watched, waited, and prepared for his son's return. Jesus didn't approve of the adulterous woman's sin, but He did not condemn built a bridge. "Neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin" (John 8:11).

Your mission isn't to fix your child—it's to show Jesus with skin. Love unconditionally. Allow free will. Build bridges.

Even if they choose a trans or gay identity, you can say: "We will always love you and want to be a part of your life." This doesn't mean approval—it means keeping the door open for God to work when the door is available to you.

When the door is not open, continue to trust God, pray for your child and grow in your relationship with the One you are trusting.

Identity isn't found in feelings or attractions. Our true identity is in Christ. Plant the seed and trust God with the harvest.

In this powerful reflection on John 1:5, we discover a profound truth that transforms how we experience the Christmas season: God does His best work in the darkness. This isn't just poetic language; it's the very pattern of redemption woven throughout Scripture.

When we feel overwhelmed by the weight of grief, loneliness, or uncertainty during what's supposed to be the most joyful time of year, we're reminded that Jesus didn't wait for ideal conditions to enter our world. He came in the darkness of night, was born in the shadows of a humble stable, and ultimately conquered death itself in the tomb's blackness. The light that shines in our darkness isn't fragile or temporary—it's the eternal, unquenchable presence of Christ Himself.

This message invites us to honestly acknowledge where we're struggling right now, to look for even the smallest flickers of divine presence in our circumstances, and to actively welcome Jesus' illuminating power into our homes and hearts. The darkness we face, no matter how overwhelming it feels, cannot and will not overcome the light of Christ that reaches into every corner of our lives.

In what ways can you become a reflection of Christ's light to others who are experiencing their own long night?

If you follow national news at all, you’ve probably heard about the “No Kings” protests. The participants are voicing their disapproval of the way the president is running the country. But when I see signs that read “No Kings,” I think of another issue—a much deeper, spiritual problem. W...

Some holiday seasons feel heavy. Joy can seem like something everyone else experiences while you watch from a distance. Grief, family strain, or painful memories can dim what once felt bright.
