The thing keeping you up at 3 a.m.? God isn't distant from it. He's more invested in it than you are. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you" (1 Peter 5:7).

Name the worry — then hand it over.

I heard this song on the radio today as I drove home from

church.

No matter what is going on, God continues to fight for us.

God is our hope, not what we see, or do not see. Our hope

is found in Christ alone!

There is power in prayer and praise.

TOMORROW?

There may be a lot of questions about our tomorrows.

Tomorrows that look dark and scary. Tomorrows that don't have

any answers. Tomorrows that one would rather skip right by.

The good news... even though we see our tomorrows as

dark and scary, or if our tomorrow is unknown, we know who

knows what lies ahead.

We can trust in our Heavenly Father to hold onto and

manage all our tomorrows. We are not promised a lifetime free

of challenges and heartaches. However, we are promised a loving

Father that will walk with us whatever life may bring. HE walks

with us through the floods and fires we experience. HE will

provide the wisdom and strength that we need.

Keep on keeping on, and trusting in HIM.

I’m thrilled to announce the newest release in my children’s book series, My New Neighbors! The book is available in paperback and hardcover.

Jin loves airplanes, so he is excited when one of the new neighbors, Diego, is an airplane pilot. But Jin’s mom seems wary of Diego and his partner Tyreek. Through conversation with his grandparents and his mom, Jin learns more about relationships that honor God and how to love others in ways that please Him.

In Our New Neighbors, Denise Shick provides parents with a loving yet faith-based perspective on treating others with kindness even when their lifestyles conflict with God’s design for families. The content is a gentle, honest way to introduce children 5 to 8 to what the Bible says about same-sex partnerships.

This is the eighth book in my children’s series that helps families navigate LGBT issues with respect, kindness, and biblical truth.

Endorsements:
"What a wonderful illustration of both love and truth! This book is an excellent resource for helping children understand God's design and the importance of living according to God's plan, while also teaching them to love others well. I'm grateful to Denise for providing children's books on such important topics." -Julie Hamilton, PhD, LMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

"Denise has crafted a short story that represents situations we all face, using characters that feel real. We no longer live in a world in which we can protect our young children from exposure to sexual relationships that may confuse their understanding of how God called us to relate to one another. We can learn from Jin and each member of his family how to enthusiastically exude the loving-kindness of God to our neighbors, while also remembering the truth and goodness of God's design for marriage." -Andrew Rodriguez, MS, LPC, Integritychristiancounseling.care

PSALM 55:16-19

"As for me, I call to God, and the LORD saves me.

Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress,

and he hears my voice.

He rescues me unharmed from the battle waged

against me, even though many oppose me.

God, who is enthroned from of old, who does

not change-

he will hear them and humble them, because they

have no fear of God."

As I read through Psalms this morning, I was reminded

how David cried out to God over and over again.

However, what stood out to me the most, was how David would

repeatably follow his cries with phrases of continued praise

and recognition that God was good.

David didn't forget that no matter what life brought, the LORD

was sovereign.

We can relate to feeling broken, worn down, and just

plain old tired of the battle raging around us.

But GOD! HE is fighting the war. HE hears and sees us.

The LORD is in control of ALL things that we have absolutely

no control of.

Our job.... continue to seek and praise!
