Easter Sunday, the day of our salvation! The world begins again! When Jesus rolled away that stone and walked away from that tomb empty — He changed everything.

The empty tomb tells us that God’s love is stronger than every hatred and violence and injustice and evil. His love can change any situation. God can bring life out of death, meaning and healing out of suffering. He can take the sins and failings of our lives and turn them around.

The power of the Resurrection is God’s promise — to each one of us and to the whole world. Because we know the hope of Easter, it should change our whole life. We don’t have to be sad or worried anymore. We don’t have to stay stuck in our problems. There is a way out. God will intervene.

Everything we are looking for in life, we can find in Jesus. But we have to go to him. We have to let Jesus touch our hearts today — with his love, with his grace, with his mercy. If we stand with Jesus, he will stand with us. If we go with Jesus, he will accompany us along every path of our journey.

Jesus, in his infinite mercy, is laid to rest in the tomb and descends into hell, freeing the souls awaiting his salvation.

: A day of stillness, quietly awaiting the fulfillment of all of Jesus’ promises. by asking for Jesus’ help to wait, steadfast, in the silence, trusting his promises even when we cannot see them.

Jesus washes his disciples feet at the Last Supper, even when they protest. Jesus, all-powerful God, humbled himself and came to serve, not to be served.

: Our salvation begins with humility — today by humbling yourself at the feet of Jesus, asking for his mercy and forgiveness.

30 pieces of silver and the passion of Christ is set into motion. The chief priests paid Judas, but Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice — for the salvation of the world, even those who betrayed him.

(also known as ): reflect on times you’ve turned your back on Jesus and pray for the strength to return to him fully this Holy Week.

Reclining at the table with his friends, Jesus reveals the first step of the coming day: betrayal by one closest to him. A reminder for us that even the apostles struggled with weakness.

: Meditate on Jesus’ words, reflecting on when you might have betrayed him, even in small ways and , praying for forgiveness and the strength to do better.

Whether it’s been a month or many years, come lay down your burdens and receive God’s healing mercy so you can fully celebrate the Resurrection. Our church will be open and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered tomorrow (Tuesday) for 12 hours from 9:00am - 9:00pm. Priests from our parish along with others from neighboring parishes will be administering the sacrament. All are welcome!
