We got together for our Kolping Family Mass and Communion Supper on Saturday evening, April 18. Thank you to Valerie Meyer for sharing her photos with us.
We are always happy and honored to welcome our celebrant, Father J***y Chengalan Thomas, to the Kolping Center. He has become a supportive friend and spiritual guide to our Kolping Family. Father J***y serves at nearby Blessed Sacrament Church in Cypress Hills and moderates the food pantry there. Attending Mass celebrated by Father J***y is always special and we are grateful that he shares some of his time with our Kolping Family.
Our tradition for many years has been to enjoy dinner together after Mass: bratwurst, sauerkraut and potato salad. Many thanks to Chris Gerage, who stepped in to supervise the heating and serving of the food. After the dinner dishes were cleared, the team of Sonia Kulesza and Gillian Guile got moving selling raffle tickets. They are excellent salespeople and our guests were very cooperative - and generous.
We were finishing up our coffee and dessert - carrot cake - when Gillian called the raffle numbers. The winning tickets were drawn by our youngest junior members, Juliette Stahl and Anakin Josten. As the raffle wound down , we assembled everyone for a group photo to remember our evening.
Thanks to our volunteers who helped make our evening possible: Bill Conte, Pat & Chris Gerage, Gillian Guile, Phoenix Josten, Paula & Sean Josten, Zoey Josten, Alice Kokasch, Sonia Kulesza, Jessica Meyer, Val & Gary Meyer and Rosemarie Rom. We are a small group, but we manage to accomplish alot because of our teamwork.
