It is always great to spend time together at our Kolping Center with friends, no matter the size of the gathering. On Saturday September 26 we welcomed 23 members and friends to Mass and Dinner. The New York City area was poised for a nor'easter that day, the a state of emergency had been declared. We were carefully watching the weather predictions and decided to hold our event. Blessed Adolph Kolping watched over us this time; the rain let up for most of the afternoon and did not resume until evening. Almost everyone who reserved was able to attend. We are blessed to have a friend like Father Johny of Blessed Sacrament parish. His presence brings a positive spirit to our Kolping Center and his homily always inspires us to live as Jesus would. We are happy to support the parish food pantry he leads, it is a good cause and serves many in the community. Our member Valerie Meyer prepared and donated her delicious potato soup, which served as the first course of our dinner. This was followed by a bratwurst platter. We ended our dinner with crumb cake and coffee. This was the perfect opportunity to present Jessica Meyer with the 2026 Distinguished Service Award, Jessica has been a wonderful addition to our Society from the start. She has worked very hard over the years to earn this honor. Congratulations and thanks for a job well done. Thanks for all who attended and made the night a success!
