On May 30, we gathered to hear from community members who were wrongfully detained by ICE and to learn about the mistreatment they endured in local detention centers. It was an honor to provide a space where they could share their stories of resilience, courage, and perseverance. We were also proud to help connect them with networks of support and resources that can stand alongside them as they move forward.

✨ We have a special guest joining us this Sabbath, May 30th!

Pastor Miguel Mendez — former pastor at Loma Linda University Church and current professor at the Loma Linda School of Religion — will be with us to kick off a full and meaningful day together.

After service, join us in the Fellowship Hall for a catered lunch.

At 2pm, head back to the Sanctuary for our City Church Lecture Series, hosted in partnership with Amigos Unidos. We'll hear directly from Glendale residents who were forcibly removed from their communities by ICE without due process — and who have since been exonerated and returned home.

We hope this gathering is a safe and grounding space for our community — one that deepens our understanding of how to support its most vulnerable members.

Join us for an afternoon of honest conversation and compassionate listening. We'll hear directly from Glendale residents who were forcibly removed from their communities without due process — and who have since been exonerated and returned home.

Together, we'll reflect on what happened, and talk about what comes next.

This event is held in partnership with Amigos Unidos Immigrant Resource Group. Representatives from the Glendale Police Department will also be in attendance to answer questions.

Easter Sabbath - April 4, 2026

"Our world as it is right now, in our lives - in all its complexity and its pain - is not so broken that Jesus could not nurture it into a flourishing garden.... that's the good news of Easter. That the Biblical story which began in a garden, ends in a garden."
