(Part 2 of 2) The Law vs Faith in Jesus. This subject is a framework Pastor Tippin will use for todays discussion and break down of Galatians chapters 3 and 4. There are so many arguments, some even in the comments of our videos, about the nature of works versus grace. In this video Pastor Tippin will put those arguments to rest, at least on our end. For clarity, God’s word is very clear no work of man, no adherence to law, gains us salivation. Only through the grace of Christ do we have the opportunity to be saved. Only by believing on Jesus will we obtain this grace. No works will ever earn us this gift. we will never be worthy. However, once we are His, we will do His works. Jesus Himself declares this in John 14:23-24 “Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me does not keep My words;” We have to keep His Word. Do what he commands us. So there is no works we can do to earn God’s grace. But once we have it, we will do Jesus’s will or we are not His. Pastor Tippin will speak on this issue but also read and break down other issues and concepts the Holy Spirit brings to our attention, through the hand of Paul, here in Galatians chapter 3 through 4.

We will be reading sections of Galatians in this episode. Please remember what we call Galatians is a singular letter written by the Holy Spirit through the hand of the apostle Paul, meant to be read in its entirety. While it is not viable to do a real in-depth study of the whole letter at once in this format, we encourage you read the whole letter to truly understand the full context of which this episode speaks.

And in ALL your biblical reading, ask yourself three questions about what your reading:
1. What is God revealing to me about Himself?
2. What is God revealing about His plan for my life?
3. Having answered questions 1 and 2, what am I going to do about it?

All of us have needed help, Godly leadership, and advice, at one time or another. If you need help in your walk with Christ, or need a better understanding of how to navigate your path in this sinful world, in a way pleasing to Christ, please contact us. We can be reached at XL4Christ.org or by email at [email protected].

(Part 2 of 2) A point of contention in some circles is the importance of the Old Testament. Some say the Old Testament no longer applies to us so its unimportant to focus on it. Others say the Old Testament law is still to be followed. Both of those arguments are wrong. The fact is the Old Testament teaches us so much about who God is, what His plan for our lives is, proves it can not be ignored. In fact, so much of the New Testament is clearly written in such a way that without a working knowledge of the Old Testament, portions of the New Testament are beyond understanding. Such a portion will be covered here, as Pastor Tippin’s reads through and breaks down chapter 3 of the letter to the Galatians. The Holy Spirit though the hand of Paul, clarifies several references in the Old Testament, in this chapter. So come join us as Pastor Tippin not only illustrates the importance of the Old Testament, but also helps us see the freedom we have from Old Testament law, in Christ. He will also demonstrate some tools we can use in this day and age which can really help us gain better understanding into the truth of God’s word.

(Part 2 of 2) Today, Pastor Tippin continues his breakdown of the first chapter of Galatians through chapter 2. He discusses exactly what the gospel is, what a genuine real life application of the gospel is, what it means for your daily life, and what the outcome of living for the gospel is. He also is going to help you see how to recognize those who live the gospel and those who just say they do. This understanding is fundamental to the understanding of Galatians. This episode builds upon our initial 2 part premier. Please check out those episodes where we read through the entire letter to the Galatians and begin the breakdown of chapter 1. Today’s episode picks up where those left off.

"A wise old man was talking to a boy and said. "There are two wolves always fighting inside me. One filled with anger, hate, jealousy, shame and lies. The other wolf is filled with love, joy, truth and peace. This battle rages inside of you and all men" The boy thought for a moment and asked "Which wolf will win?" The old man answered "The one you feed"

The Lord teaches us these very principles:
"For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life." Galations 6:8

"Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." Galatians 5:19-25

Whichever we feed/fulfill, can be clearly seen through our actions and words. (Matthew 7:17-20)

As a result of this battle, God gives us many warnings of the consequences to feeding the flesh. In one example, God says:
"For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." Romans 8:13

I beseech you all to deny your flesh and the works of it, take up your cross in following Christ and feed your Spirit daily!!

(Part 2 of 2) Today, Pastor Tippin begins a new series in the letter to the Galatians. What we call Galatians is actually a letter written by the Holy Spirit through the hand of Paul to the churches in Galatia. Now when someone writes you a letter, do you read the first paragraph and stop? Come back to the rest of it sometime down the road. I doubt it. Pretty much no one does this. Today we will read the whole letter then break down chapter 1 verses 1 through 10. It’s the only way to understand the context of what comes in the middle or end of the letter. We should treat the letters in the New Testament the same. In the case of the letter to the Galatians, the hand of Paul is writing to address specific issues within the church. The Galatians have been listening to people spreading a false message. In response, they have begun (or returned to) practices in order to obtain the salvation of Jesus in place of belief in Christ. Performing acts in their flesh instead of obeying Christ. So the Holy Spirit has to set the record straight. He says anyone who spreads a message other than the true gospel is accursed. Anyone. So yes that means me. It means you. It means everyone. So we had better know the true gospel, and be spread that message in actions and speech. What is the true gospel? If you don’t know it, you can’t live it, so you can’t spread it. Come join us as we begin a journey learning what the gospel is and how it applies to you.
