🕊️ Honoring the Life of Käthie van Houten 🕊️

Tomorrow, April 25 at 2:00 PM, we gather at ICUMC to remember and celebrate the life of our dear friend, Käthie—a long-time member whose kindness, faith, and presence shaped our community in lasting ways.

“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” — Matthew 5:4

A service of committal will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hollywood Hills, with a reception back at the church around 4:30 PM as we continue sharing stories, memories, and the love she gave so freely.

If Käthie ever made you feel seen, welcomed, or at home—you are invited. Come pay your respects. Come remember her laughter, her faith, and the quiet ways she reflected God’s love in this world.

Let’s show up for her the way she always showed up for others. 💛

🌅✨ HE IS RISEN—and so is our community. ✨🌅

What a Sunday. What a story. What a moment.

Today we didn’t just celebrate Easter—we stepped into it. After journeying through the Gospel of Mark this Lent, we landed at its stunning, mysterious ending: *Mark 16:1–8*. No neat resolution. No easy answers. Just an empty tomb, a call to go, and the trembling, awe-filled beginning of something new.

That’s the miracle of Easter—God doesn’t just finish the story… He invites **us** to live it.

And today, you showed what that looks like. 💛

Families singing. Kids laughing through egg hunts. Friends gathering around tables. A community choosing joy, choosing connection, choosing faith.

Huge thank you to Sevan’s Chicken 🍗 for an incredible lunch, and to every volunteer who cooked, set up, cleaned up, organized, and made today shine. God moves through people who show up—and today, He showed up in all of you.
