I grew up in the Roman Catholic tradition. When God opened my heart and mind to the true Gospel, I began to understand the fallacy of the Roman Catholic teaching of salvation by good works. Years later, i left the Roman Catholic Church because I fully understood that salvation from sin is God's sovereign gift of grace given through faith in Jesus Christ alone. I left the RCC because all it stood for and all its teachings are contrary to the true Gospel. Our teacher in Bible College on Roman Catholicism, (the late) Pastor Tony Pezzotta, was instrumental in giving me a Biblical and a foundational understanding of these issues.

Here is an audio message by (the late) Pastor John MacArthur that presents a Biblical and historical teaching on the falsehood of the whole PAPAL SYSTEM of the Roman Catholic Church.

My prayers for you to whom I share this is that God will open your heart and mind to the true Gospel of Jesus Christ and to the plain and simple teaching of the Bible (the Word of God). For those of you who believe in Christ alone as your Savior, I pray that this will provide you a firm Biblical foundation of the Gospel truth, and make you an effective witness of the Gospel to your loved ones and friends.
