VBS - On Fire! was a complete success. 24 students and 11 adults attended and we learned about Moses and the Burning Bush from Exodus 3, the Three Hebrew Slaves in the Fiery Furnace from Daniel 3, Elijah and the Fire from Heaven from 1 Kings 18, and The Coming of the Holy Spirit and the Tongues of Fire from Acts 2. The pastor even threw in a bonus story about how, just as gold is refined by fire, God must put us through the fire to burn off our imperfections so that we may bring Him glory.

The students also enjoyed activities, fun, smiles, sugar, and genuine love as Indian Springs understands that they are our future. We all should commit to "train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6

A huge thanks to everyone who came and all of those that helped make this an impactful day!

Aldersgate Day is celebrated on May 24 (or the Sunday closest) to commemorate the day in 1738 when John Wesley experienced assurance of his salvation. Wesley reluctantly attended a group meeting that evening on Aldersgate Street in London. As he heard a reading from Luther's Preface to the Epistle to the Romans, he felt his "heart strangely warmed." Wesley wrote in his journal that at about 8:45 p.m. "while he was describing the change which God works in the heart through faith in Christ, I felt my heart strangely warmed. I felt I did trust in Christ, Christ alone for salvation; and an assurance was given me that He had taken away my sins, even mine, and saved me from the law of sin and death."
