A May visit to remember…reflecting on the kindness of our weekend with Kadam Trina and how she touched our Sangha’s heart ♥️

Many said it was the best teaching they could remember hearing on the topic of loving kindness.

Resident Teacher Gen Choma agreed wholeheartedly, saying “she thoroughly exposed the truth that we actually do live in a world of kindness; it was a masterful teaching on using evidence to gain conviction. Her humor and examples were delightful and engaging. There was lots of laughter and also periods of deep resonating reflection. Not only did she create a sea change in our minds, she was also a model of teaching skills.”

One of the great fortunes of the New Kadampa Tradition is the variety of qualified, kind teachers traveling about sharing Dharma. Thank you KMC Washington for sharing your precious one with us!

Live lightly, discover the joy of selflessness…

Who are we and how do we really exist?

In his wisdom teachings, Buddha reveals the true nature of reality — emptiness, which opens the door to limitless possibility.

Of all Buddha’s teachings, none are more far-reaching and transformative than the teachings on selflessness.

It is through our understanding of emptiness that we can come to solve all our problems, live joyfully, and be of maximum benefit to others.

When we realize the emptiness of our self, how self is merely self-image, we can live in our world lightly, having the flexibility of mind to respond to every situation in a constructive way.

We become deeply engaged with everyone and everything around us from a spacious, compassionate perspective.

Everyone is welcome.

“Emptiness is the way things really are. It is the way things exist as opposed to the way they appear... There is no greater method for experiencing peace of mind and happiness than to understand and meditate on emptiness.”

— Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche
