Rivers Church At Rivers Church, we worship God through music and the word of God, the Holy Bible.

May the Lord bless you and protect you; may the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord look with favor on you and give you peace."
Numbers 6:24-26, CSB
A blessing is more than a kind wish. It is a prayer that invites the favor, presence, protection, and peace of God into someone's life. When older dads pray over younger dads, they are doing something deeply biblical. They are passing on encouragement. They are reminding younger men that they are not alone.
Many younger dads are tired. Some are carrying financial pressure, parenting stress, marriage strain, work demands, and private fears they rarely say out loud. A prayer of blessing can remind them that God sees them, strengthens them, and walks with them.

My family taught me to love the Ohio State Buckeyes. Today, we're talking about what we pass on to our children. It's about what we raise and what we release into the world.

From silence and stillness, a roaring lion emerged. Then came the morning that sealed the promise. Your buried body began to breathe. Oh, Jesus, yours is the victory! You set me free, Hallelujah! Darkness lost its grip, and every chain is broken. There is salvation in your name.

"The righteous who walks in his integrity-blessed are his children after him."
Proverbs 20:7,
One of the greatest gifts a father can give his children is a life of integrity. Integrity does not mean flawlessness. It means being the same person at home, at work, at church, and in private. It means choosing honesty, humility, repentance, and faithfulness.
Children may not remember every lesson their father taught, but they often remember how he lived. They remember how he treated people. They remember whether he apologized. They remember if he prayed. They remember if his faith was real.

"One generation will declare your works to the next and will proclaim your mighty acts."
Psalm 145:4, CSB
God designed faith to be passed down. Every generation has a responsibility to speak of God's goodness to the next generation. That means older fathers have something younger fathers desperately need: wisdom, perspective, encouragement, and testimony.
Older dads may carry scars, regrets, and lessons learned the hard way. But those experiences can become blessings when they are shared with humility. Younger dads do not need older men who pretend they got everything right. They need older men who can say, "God was faithful. Keep trusting Him." This coming Sunday we have something special planned for our younger dads.
