There’s something worth celebrating about a job well done, a day’s work completed, and the ways our work can bless the people around us.

This Labor Day, we’re thankful for the work of our hands and for everyone who faithfully shows up, serves, builds, creates, provides, and gives their best each day. Work is more than what we do—it’s one of the ways we contribute, serve, and make a difference in the world around us.

Whether you’re working hard, raising a family, serving your community, or taking a much-needed day of rest, we hope you take time to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

What if the conflict you are dreading is based on a story fear wrote for you before you ever had the conversation?

In Joshua 22, two groups of Israelites nearly went to war over an altar. Both were 🟥deeply committed to God
🟥fiercely protective of their faith and their future generations
🟥convinced they were protecting something sacred
🟥 completely wrong about the other's motives

This week's message from Joshua 22 reminds us that good motives are not the same as correct conclusions.
➡ Fear fills in the blanks, and when it does, it often reaches for the worst possible interpretation. What begins as a desire to protect what we love can quickly become a conflict that threatens to destroy it.

❗The answer is not to abandon conviction, but to pair it with humility. To listen before accusing. To ask before assuming. To be willing to have the hard conversation before a misunderstanding does real damage.

As Proverbs 18:13 warns, answering before listening is folly and shame. Joshua 22 gives us a roadmap for navigating tense situations with wisdom, humility, and a willingness to understand the other side.

✨One honest conversation can turn what looks like proof of division into a monument of unity.

👉Sometimes the goal is to discover there never needed to be a war at all.

Sometimes the biggest conflicts in our lives don’t happen because one person has bad intentions.

Sometimes they happen because both people think they’re doing the right thing.

That can happen in marriages, families, friendships, churches, and workplaces—when fear, assumptions, and good motives all collide.

✨This Sunday in Joshua 22, we’re looking at how God’s people almost went to war over a misunderstanding, and what it can teach us about handling conflict before it does real damage.

God gives. We receive. Then what we receive flows outward.
🔺That is the whole Christian life.

In Joshua 20 and 21, after generations of waiting, Israel finally had the land. And almost immediately, God said: now give some of it back. Cities of refuge. Provision for the Levites scattered throughout the land.
🔺Not because God was taking something away, but because his gifts were never meant to stop with his people.

James 1:17 reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from above. Paul asks in 1 Corinthians 4:7, what do you have that you did not receive? The answer changes everything about how we hold what we have.

✨Maybe God gave you margin so someone else has somewhere to land. Maybe he brought you through something hard so you can sit with someone who thinks no one understands.

👉God does not give it all just for you. What God gives to us is meant to become something God can give through us.

What if there’s more potential in what God has already given you than you can see right now? 🧐

This week in Joshua 17, we looked at the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh, who came to Joshua complaining they needed more land.
🔺Joshua’s response was simple and convicting: you already have more than you think.
🔺The forest isn’t a dead end. It’s undeveloped potential.

Like Paul writes in Philippians 4, contentment and faithfulness aren’t things we find after our circumstances improve. They’re things we learn right where we are, through Christ who strengthens us. Grace isn’t opposed to effort. It’s the reason we can do the work in front of us.

✨Before you ask God for more, ask him to show you what you’ve already been given that you haven’t started using.

👉You may not need more. You may just need to start clearing the forest.

What if the thing holding you back isn’t what you don’t have?

We spend a lot of time thinking, “If I just had more time… more money… more opportunity… more help… then things would be different.”

But what if God sees more potential in what you already have?

At 85 years old, Caleb did not ask for an easier inheritance. He asked for the mountain—the same territory he had believed God would give Israel 45 years earlier. Not because he had forgotten the pain of the delay, but because bitterness had never taken root in his heart.

Caleb could not control the unbelief of the people around him. He could not recover the lost years. But he:
🔺guarded his heart
🔺 recognized God’s sustaining hand,
🔺kept following Him wholeheartedly—through all of it.

What happened to you may explain your pain. It does not have to determine your character.
➡Bitterness keeps you wandering around yesterday’s offense.
➡Faith begins climbing today’s mountain.

✨God has kept you. He is still with you. And there may still be a mountain waiting.

Some hurts don’t disappear just because time passes. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t what happened to us, but growing because of it.

This Sunday, we’re looking at Caleb in Joshua 14—a man who waited decades for something he had been ready for long before. Through disappointment, delay, and circumstances he didn’t choose, Caleb kept moving forward in faith instead of bitterness.

✨Move toward faith. Keep your heart free. Be ready for the mountain ahead.
