Welcome to Jesus House Elkridge online.

When life tightens its grip—when trouble rises suddenly, when fear whispers, when disappointment hits harder than expected—every person runs somewhere. Some run to people, some to distractions, some to old habits, and some to their own strength. But Proverbs 18:10 confronts us with a better refuge:
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.”

This verse doesn’t just describe God as a protector; it reveals a place—a spiritual fortress—available to anyone who chooses Him as their first response, not their last resort. The sermon asks a simple but piercing question: In the moment of crisis, where do you run?

Do you run to anxiety or to assurance?
To panic or to prayer?
To human solutions or divine strength?

“Where Do You Run To?” is a call to re‑train the heart, to redirect the reflex, and to rediscover the safety found only in the presence, character, and authority of God. It reminds us that safety is not a location—it’s a Name.

Devoted Hearts | September 5, 2026 | Exodus Chapter 27

God focused His instruction for the construction of the tabernacle on the altar of burnt offering set at the entrance of the courtyard making it impossible to approach God without confronting the reality of sacrifice and Judgement for sin.

In the New Testament Christ suffered outside the city gate to sanctify us through his own blood serving as both the ultimate altar and final sacrifice.

The priests are charged with keeping the altar fire burning, in the same way Christians are called to a continuous spiritual devotion & communion to God through consistent prayer and meditation on the word, powered by a life of PURITY/HOLINESS.

Today, we read that God continue to details the intricate construction of the Tabernacle structure, culminating in the heavy veil that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place (Holy of Holies). Although the Tabernacle's outer coverings were plain, weather-resistant skins, yet its innermost layers were woven with gold and exquisite artistry.

Here is what it means for you: Value Inner Beauty over External Appearance - Focus more on cultivating hidden spiritual integrity and a devotion known by God than on impressing others externally.
