Miracle Sunday is a time to explore our new vision and to help establish sustainable support for theological education in Africa, Europe, and the Philippines.

United Methodist leaders are inviting 30,000 worldwide congregations during 2026 into a God-led, Holy Spirit-empowered six-week emphasis to Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, and Lead Courageously.

The emphasis will equip congregations through worship and small group study to extend the vision of the church and receive a special offering to help support 500 students annually to prepare for pastoral ministry across Africa, Europe and the Philippines.

In Virginia, the six-week series begin September 6 and culminates on Miracle Sunday, October 11 with a special offering. By equipping pastors, teachers, and lay leaders, the Church invests in leaders who will guide communities with wisdom, compassion, and courage.

Salt connects us everywhere. It is present in all living things. In Seawater it is invisible- but you can taste it! And then you can see it as it dries along the edge of the beach. It is present, for better and for worse in the soil of the earth from which all life grows. And of course, it is present within each living thing, including us, the human. In amniotic fluid, and in tears. The average human body includes 40 teaspoons of salt! Jesus said, “You are the Salt of the Earth!” (Matthew 5 :13)

Celebrating 11 years for Bishop Sue!

Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson was elected bishop by the 2016 Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference (SEJ) of The United Methodist Church and consecrated July 15, 2016. Her first assignment as bishop was to the North Georgia Episcopal Area beginning September 1, 2016. She was assigned to the Virginia Conference at the 2022 SEJ Conference.
