Thinking back on another amazing week of VBX! This was our best year ever, and we’re so blessed by so many jumping in to see what student ministry is all about this week. They got to see our theme days, recreation, crafts, missions, and most importantly, they got to hear the gospel all week long! Thankful for our volunteers that make this week happen, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Days 6 & 7 were awesome days of ministry in many places! Yesterday we spent the entire day with high schoolers at ETEC here in São Paulo and had six different speaking engagements talking about American culture and then break out sessions with students answering questions from Brazilian students for hours. Day seven started in a local “communidade” where our students walked throughout the area sharing the gospel and inviting children to the join in the community center for popcorn and cotton candy. We then were able to visit and spend time with another local Brazilian organization near the church that had not received a visiting group from America since 2004! Such a blessing to see our students loving on people of Brazil with the love of Christ and sharing the gospel with so many decisions being made 🙌

Another great a day of ministry! We started at the fire station and then time in the local community sharing the gospel with 63 gospel conversations from our students today, and many of those made salvation decisions! We also spent significant time with the local college talking about our culture, our personal lives, and the opportunities that arose to share more of our stories. Pray for our students to rest well tonight as we have another full day of ministry tomorrow!

Day 4. By far the one day that will stand out in the hearts and minds of these students and locals for generations to come. We were able to start the morning prayer walking in the local areas that our missionary is serving, a park with multiple sports fields, tracks, beautiful nature, and lots of people. We were then able to enjoy some special time with the local police station that was truly what this group needed to kickstart an amazing afternoon and evening of ministry. We then ate supper and headed into a local “comunidade” or favela. We aren’t able to share many of the pictures and videos inside for a few different reasons, but please see the hearts and lives actively being changed in the ones we were able to share. Multiple gospel decisions and conversations were able to be had, food handed out by our team to so many people in the community, and so much prayer from our team for the local Brazilians we were able to interact with. I challenge you to talk to a team member when they returned about THIS moment, and I promise you each of them will have a story to share of how their lives were changed in this place tonight. Pray for these people, pray for these students, and continue to pray for the gospel to advance in the lives and communities we are so blessed to be in!

Day 3 was a great day of local ministry surrounding the area of the church, with many of our students leading in various ways in the morning and evening services! We had close to fifty intentional gospel conversations and saw students share the gospel with clarity and confidence, and some for the very first time. Pray for the seeds that were planted to take root, and for the decisions that were made to be cultivated and grow!

Day 1&2 - The Brazil team has officially arrived! The first full day started with seeing the sunrise over the Amazon as we arrived into country at daybreak, followed by some sleepy (but very happy) selfies. The team eventually made their way through many cultural activities and tried new Brazilian food for lunch amongst the markets; before seeing a beautiful cathedral and the tallest building in Brazil (think Empire State Building) that included the observation decks, art exhibits, ancient maps exhibits, and the world record holding highest skatepark in the world. The team wrapped up the evening with field training for the rest of the week with special guests, and has now gotten tucked away for the night. A full and exciting time getting here, now please join us in praying for lives to be changed; both those on this trip and those of the people that we will interact with throughout the country!
