Our Savior's Lutheran Church - Bundy WI

Our Savior's Lutheran Church - Bundy WI Our Savior’s Church is a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Sunday services are at 9:00am

The church originated January 17, 1937 in Bundy’s local Jeffries schoolhouse. At that time, approximately 55 people attended and 11 requested instruction. Construction of the church building began in the spring of 1938 with the first worship service in the log church being held on Christmas Day 1939. In May of 1940, “The Little Log Church” was dedicated, having a 40’ x 24’, 100 seat Sanctuary. In

1950, church members and a team of horses worked to dig the basement for the church. The bell tower of the church was built in 1952 and a bell from Charles City, Iowa was installed.

Hello all,
Tomorrow, December 14th is the third week of Advent, Advent is a four-week season dedicated to reflective preparation for the arrival, "advent", of Jesus Christ's Nativity at Christmas time. The church is trimmed and our tree is up!
Tomorrow is also our Church Auction at 1:00 pm, all proceeds are donated to a chosen charity.
Our Christmas Eve service will be at 4:30 pm with Pastor Bill Trosien. Please come! This fb page has 97 followers, if you have not attended, here is a special invitation for you, please join us, you are most welcome! Our Sunday services are at 9:00 am and Bible study at 8:00 for the early birds.
As most of you know we do not have a permanent pastor, we are served by a pool of six retired Missouri Synod pastors. This has been a hidden blessing, a silver lining, and a benefit drawing on the knowledge, insight and experience of all six in our journey to faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
God’s peace and His blessings in this most sacred season!

Sue Sorley put on a luncheon after church this last Sunday Nov 2nd consisting of a strawberry dump cake, home made mini donuts (who does that??) and various cheeses, fruits, and sausage on her charcuterie board, it was all delicious, thanks Sue!
A couple week ago I was in town at the bank and noticed a small painted rock in the shrubbery. There is a Bible verse written on the back. In this world we can sometimes feel alone in our faith, this gave me such a warm feeling knowing there are others out there as us who are doing as Jesus has directed, to spread the good message. We passed it around a couple of Sundays ago so everyone got a look at it.
This little stone is not meant to be tucked away and forgotten in a dark drawer, I will set it free and place it somewhere to continue its work to inspire another soul in Jesus. Pretty amazing what a person with a couple rocks and a little paint can do!
It other church news; we continue to be blessed with a rotation of six retired pastors to fill the church on Sunday. Our schedule is filled thru the end of the year including a Christmas Eve service, time to be announced.
Painting of the exterior of the church has been completed. Also in progress is upgrade of the electrical wiring.
We purchased a Roland FP-30X piano keyboard to accompany the choir and beyond. It’s pretty awesome and can make a ton of instrument sounds, we’re looking forward to it adding a new dimension to our services. Adding to the excitement, we received an anonymous donation of $500 for the keyboard purchase!! Wow! Whoever you are, thank you!
That’s all for now.
May God Bless

Hello all,
Fall is nearly here, the days are getting shorter and the mornings cooler, harvest season is at hand and for me a very enjoyable time of the year!
Our church has had a successful summer, with every Sunday worship service filled by one of our five retired pastors. Working with several pastors has been a blessing for us at Our Saviors. Their life knowledge and teachings of the word of God has been inspiring. More had been better!
Our schedule remains; SundayBible study at 8:00 am, church at 9:00, and on most Sundays coffee, snacks and fellowship at 10:00.
Our Bible study class will resume on Sunday September 7th after a break for the summer months. Please feel free to join in. There is a small fee for materials every few months. Don’t feel intimidated, you don’t need to be a Bible scholar to attend! There is much to learn with open discussions many times attended by our visiting pastor. You can jump in at any time.
Please join us!
What’s new around the church? We have hired an electrician to upgrade the wiring to code as needed. We also signed a contract to re-chink/caulk and repaint the exterior. There was a snake, a very colorful one at that, that had taken up residence in the shed behind the church. I saw him once and wish I could have taken a photo for identification. I’ve looked for him several times since but not to worry, he has apparently moved on.
God’s Blessings
Scott

Yesterday we drove from Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Montgomery on Hwy 82, a hilly winding drive of approximately 100 miles. Logging seems to be the main industry in the area with clear-cuts and full length trees being trucked to area paper mills. Along the way you could smell the freshly cut pine and the stench of a paper mill just like in Mosinee.
The area looks very poor with abandoned homes and businesses in various states of disrepair and overgrown with brush and kudzu vines, very surprising even as we entered the city of Prattville and into Montgomery. On the plus side, lots of little churches, many non-denominational. Unknown how many are viable but I’m sure most are shepherded by part time pastors, many holding other jobs, much like our own situation. I was thinking about that, maybe that’s the way Jesus had intended it. Small gatherings in His name, I think there is comfort in that.
Hwy 82 is kind of coming in the back door of Montgomery. Driving on I-65 the main interstate shows a better side of the city. One of the major employers is the Hyundai auto factory.
I think it’s interesting to see different slices of America, good or bad as we travel. We are so blessed by where we live!!

Greetings to our friends in Christ from Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bundy, Wi!
I am happy to report that Our Savior’s is alive and well! As many of you know we lost our pastor last fall. Pastor Below accepted a call from a church in Utah. We wish him well and God’s blessings.
Loss of a pastor is a common issue for small churches. There are not enough to fill the need with many pastors servicing more than one church.
Our Savior’s has been blessed with five retired LCMS pastors on a rotating basis for our Sunday service. This has been a blessing containing a silver lining for us. Having the faith-skills and knowledge of these seasoned individuals has opened new insights to us in the faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Please come join us! Our worship services are on Sunday at 9:00am with Bible study at 8:00am.
For more information call or text me at (715) 921-0197, I am Scott, one of the elders.
FYI, we recently gained access to this FB page and the website as well. We will be updating them soon. https:
