Brief History:
1891 - first church started and folded
1900 - current church started with 35 members - met in Masonic Hall
1901 - received into the Augusta Baptist Association
Early 1900's - church building constructed on Fitzlee St
1940-50's - addition of baptistry and Sunday School building ; NB Association formed from Augusta
1960 - purchased house and land on Fitzlee and 10th streets - us

ed as Sunday School and other church activities
1969 - purchase paid in full
1971 - entered into building program
1973, March 25 - first service in new church building
1973 - 2012 - many changes and additions to the building and grounds, but more importantly many additions to the Kingdom of God. To this day GBC continues to be light on the hill to this community and welcomes all who come to her doors.
