We had a great homecoming morning at Old Zion today. Over 155 people were there I am pretty sure that is a record for our country church! God is so good. Sorry I do not have the sermon for today up. We had a part 1 of 2 about the ark, the alter, and the aroma. Where Noah left the ark and the very first thing he built was an alter for the Lord. More to come but better yet instead of reading it on here next week come and join us at Old Zion UMC Its better in person! We are only about 9 miles out of Glasgow on 1297. Come worship with us! The lord says where two or there (or more) are gather together in my name I am there!

Genesis 8:1
The Lord remembers

God turns his attention to Noah. The flood stops and the wind blows onto the earth.

Wind means sprit of God, God calls the sprit of God to flow upon the water of the flood.

God is bring order to the chaos.

God promises that he will return and not flood but set fire to the earth.

We are reminded by the rainbow that God remembers.

We are bound for judgement.
God will judge each and everyone of us.

There are only two outcomes it's either heaven or hell, there is no middle ground.

In Noah's time, the ark did not save him grace by God saved Noah. Today Jesus is our ark of safety so that we can make it to heaven.

Others may have tried to claim their standing in the world or they were better than others.

People may have justify their salvation by saying they will get to it one day. Judgment day is coming and there is only two out comes.

It's grace from God or its nothing when it comes to God. By what your life produces is the only evidence that you have been saved. If there is some difference in your life then that is you proof that you have been saved. Can everyone around you see it?

God does not leave anyone out of the call.

God gave Noah 120 years before he flooded the earth for Noah to share his word. God has given us a great amount of time to come and hear, believe, and become saved.

All who wished to be saved can be saved!

God calls all men to be saved. But we know that not all will be saved. But we know that if you want salvation then you can have salvation. You are not left out of the call!

The door of grace will be closed one day to us like God closed the door of the ark. There comes an end to the grace.

You may say well when I am ready ill get right with God, well when you maybe ready God maybe me done it maybe to late.

God remembers his own, one of the best parts about the earth, but God remembers Noah. God never told Noah when it was going to end but God still remembers you!

What about all these troubles with me well you stick it out and stay in Christ and God will remember you. The sprit of God came and took care of it!

Whatever is coming along on the seas of life for you, remember that there is a God that the seas and the winds obey. God remembers you!

Are u in the ark? just know that God remembers you even in the middle of your heartache.

Are you outside of the ark? Are you lost? It's time to get right with God and know that you will have a spot on the ark.

The flood teaches two things that we are saved in Christ but it also teaches us that if we are not safe in Christ it's time to get safe in the ark of Christ.

Never forget
Genesis 5 1-3
We have seen the start of men the fall of man and the start of the human race and the death of the human race.
God is planning for Adams family to be the family to bring Jesus into the word.
Moses wrote the book of Genesis and the holy sprit ensured that it was without error.
Adam lived until Moses' grandfather methuselah so that the truth is preserved.
Remember when reading the bible that God says that all scripture is profitable for us in our walk with God!
Today we look at verses 1-3. This part reminds us where we come from.
Most people want to know where they come from. Right?
Where do we come from? Some say that we come from something that is different than the Bible, some believe that we came from monkey, now some may act like monkey but according to God and the Bible God created man in one day!! Amen!
God created u u have value, you are important no matter what anyone has told you. You mean something to God.
Adam means red dirt. What he was made from. This means we are ALL equal, because God made us from the same dirt.
God made us, then he has a right to command us, and we owe him everything.
You have a soul, reason, thought, and the ability to connect to God. We are not animals why are u acting like one.
Mans nature was also corrupted when Adam and Eve ate the fruit.
The bible has a son that is created in a likeness of Adam they are no longer the likeness of God but of the corrupt nature of Adam.
Why should we be saved? Because we have inherited this corrupt nature and we need to be saved not only from sin, but ourselves also.
There is some good news the curse of sin is not the end of the story, John 3:16 God loves you so much that he sent a savior.

You can have your sins forgiven.
The corrupt nature can be taken away by calling the name of Jesus Christ as your savior. John 3:7 thee must be born again to get into Heaven.

We get a new nature when we get saved.

Giving up your sin and corrupt nature is the best deal you will ever make! Don't rebel go and repent and walk with Jesus.

Dealing with conviction

Conviction: God bringing our sins to our attention. God saying you are lost and a sinner, by way of sadness over sin.

But it's not just sinners, Christians have to deal with convictions, because sometimes Christians blow it and mess up.

Christians still deal will convictions from sins.

When we get saved there is a growing process, you have to learn how to walk, talk and live in Christ.

Conviction is going to be apart of our lives.
These things happen to the child of God.

Conviction turns us around and has to go THE better way.

Sometimes we worship God with a divided heart. We are going through the motions, maybe you have already been under conviction today.

God has convicted Cain he has told him what he can do to make things right.

When God convicts you, you have two choices to follow God or to continue you walk in the wrong path.

Praise God for conviction, because it gives you this time out for God to tell you what you are doing wrong, it's a danger ahead sign, that tells you to turn around and make it right.

Cain heard God but he didn't listen to God.
We are to be doers of the word, not just hearers of the word.

On judgement day you will not be judge by the thoughts in your head or you actions you will be judges by thus saith the word of God.

Cain let his sin fester. Just a little bit of sin will effect and infect all that it touches.

God wants to bring you to repentance of sin , not pain.

Repentance is to turn around from my sins. You can confess all day but if you do not turn around you will be over taken by your sin.

Cain choose anger instead of repenting.

You will never get right with God until you get humble before him.

The horrible sin of the church is pride. Amen right?

We we get convicted we can get anger or prideful, but the cure is repentance from our sins.

The guy who thinks he is alright had better watch out because he is about to fall.

Today we would say that Cain's sin was small. He did not worship the right way, and God convicted him.

What is God convicting you of?
Where is God saying you have fail at?
What are you trying to turn away from?

Come today and repent from your sins, I know I'm going to.

Humble yourself. God is calling you to humble yourself. Then turn around and walk the other way.

Psalm 142:1-7

Is there anyone who cares for my soul?

I want you know that God cares for you.
Many people are troubled and are so troubled that they are taking their own lives.

Does anybody care for me?
Does anybody care about what I'm going through.

1. The sinner does not care for your soul.

A group of sinner may seem to care but when you run out of the things they want they do not care about you anymore.

Paul said that the sinner and satan does not care about your soul.

Satan does not care about you. Sinners want you to fall they do not want you to have the happiness and freedom that Jesus gives.

Are we always happy? No but God is the same on the mountain as he is in valley, he will never leave you or forsake you.

He's a friend that's closer than brother.
Let me tell you that God cares about you.

What does the world have for you? NOTHING!

You may look for someone who cares, but you will fill what you are looking for in Jesus!

2. The saints SHOULD care.

You got friends that are dying and going to Hell.

We need to be moving on the sinners soul and getting them saved.

You should be on your knees praying for them, how many prayers have you prayed. How many tears have you wept for them.

Show the world that Christians care!

3. The savior DOES care!

He went all the way to Calvary and died for you.

The found him guiltily for claiming to be the sin of God. He didn't have to claim it, HE WAS!

The put a robe on him, he was rejected, the whipped him, the put a crown of throws, the nail him to the cross and he put him in the air, all for what?

BECAUSE HE CARES FOR!

Why did he die for me?

BECAUSE HE CARES FOR MY SOUL.

they laid him in the tomb. 3,2,1 days
HE'S ALIVE.

they put a rock in front of the tomb and we Mary came to the tomb the stone was rolled away. Why?

BECAUSE HE CARES FOR ME!

Do you know anybody that would do that for you?

How much do you care or him?

If you love me you will keep my commandments.

Do something to show him that you care for him. Don't just say it, do something to show that you love him.

Even though you may have been a Christian for a long time he still wants to know that you love him.

Just like a long marriage that needs to still see that love.

Does he care for us?
This is how much he cares for us. He has gone to prepare a place for you, he told us that he is the way, the truth, and life, no man can get there other than through me.

Does he really care? He says fear not for I am with thee.

Jesus cares for you.

Luke 15 1-10

We were all born sinners, Jesus Christ is out there and is wanting to save you.

God is reaching people.

Keep praying for the lost.
If you have 100 sheep and one gets out you are gonna go after, sinners are lost, go after them!

Be worried about the lost, go out and reach the lost.

Come and be found by Jesus Christ!

If one is saved it's worth all the time spent in prayer!

Love your neighbor, pray for their soul.

Pray the they find the love of God!

It's not just your neighbor that lives beside you but the whole world.

There are lots of people that are lost! Be praying for them.

If your lost its time to get the junk out of the trunk and get right with God!

Tell the world about Jesus! We are running out of time. Tell the world about Jesus!!!

Be worried about the lost. Pray for the lost, get the lost saved, so they do not have to die and go to Hell!

Lost family, friends and so many others!!

Genesis 3:7-24

The man has brought shame into humanity.
This shows us that nothing is different today because they did wrong and they tried to cover it up.

We do the same thing today instead of confessing we would rather cover up.

There is coming a day of judgement where God will judge us for our actions.

Genesis it just revelations backwards, God will put the earth back to perfection.

Revelations: God will be walking with us in heaven.
Genesis: God comes walking in the cool of the day to see Adam and Eve.

God called out to Adam asking where are you? But he knew where he was, God is still calling out to us asking where are you?

Where are you really at? Where do you think you need to be?

What are you hiding behind today? Stop hiding come to The Lord and confess your sins.

Verse 10-13 we find the blame game starting.
God ask Adam who told you, you were naked?
Adam says the women that you gave me gave it to me to eat.
God looks at Eve and Eve blames the serpent.

We all have a responsible for yourself in front of God.

You are responsible for your own actions.

14-19 God passes the curse on the earth.

Serpent: will crawl on his belly and eat dust.
Women: painful childbirth and husband will rule over them
Men: hard labor and thorns and thistles will grow in the garden.

All these things are brought apron us is to remind us that we are sinners and need forgiveness.

The crown of thorns was symbolic to the thorns in the garden that was to remind us of our sins, the sins of the world were placed on the head of Jesus.

Death is another sign that were are sinner.

23-24
Man is separated from God.
Man has become like us.
Man is alone in this world and living under the curse of sin.

Here is the good news, verse 3:15, he shall bruise you on the head, he is Jesus, Jesus is the seed of woman!

Side note: wow just sit and thing about that, this is like a mystery book that has all kinds of connections throughout it... It's amazing! Our lord is amazing! He is an awesome God!

God kills an animal to cover up Adam and Eve's sin and this is our sacrifice, God made the first and the last sacrifice, the first and the last.

Now he calls you and offers you this salvation from your sins.

Nothing but the grace of God through Jesus Christ can cover up your sins!

Are you clothed it Christ today? You do not have to go on living under the curse, God gave the curse and the cure, his son Jesus Christ.
